ROYAL OAK, MI, November 07, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amber M. Poupore has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Poupore has established a distinguished career in the culinary, hospitality and wellness industries, marked by entrepreneurial leadership and a steadfast commitment to plant based nutrition and education. For more than 15 years, she has served as the sole owner of Cacao Tree Café in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since opening in 2010, the café has been recognized for its dedication to natural, health conscious cuisine and active community engagement.
Building on the success of Cacao Tree Café, Ms. Poupore founded and operated The Clean Plate from 2013 to 2018, a vegetarian restaurant that quickly became a regional favorite. During this period, she also consulted for GreenSpace Café in Ferndale, Michigan, from 2014 to 2019, contributing to design, menu development, and training systems that strengthened the café's presence within the local plant based dining community. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade at Inn Season Café in Royal Oak, advancing to general manager from 2006 to 2010, where she broadened operations through catering and special events that deepened community ties.
Her professional foundation began at the Detroit Waldorf School in 2001. While undertaking Waldorf elementary education training through the Great Lakes Waldorf Institute, she spent three years cultivating leadership, child and human development insight, and self development practices that later informed her approach to staff mentorship and guest relations. During this time, she launched her first cooking classes, free sessions for parents and children, to encourage healthy eating habits and family connection through food.
Across the decade leading up to COVID 19, Ms. Poupore used her cafés as platforms for broad community education, meeting people where they were through workshops, demonstrations, and local media segments. Whether at farmers markets, libraries, or fundraising events, she focused on practical skills and one enduring message, to eat real food. Her outreach shared practical skills while emphasizing how whole foods nourish mental and physical health, while aiding in the prevention and potential reversal of chronic disease. This sustained grassroots outreach paused with the onset of the pandemic.
Ms. Poupore volunteered with the Navajo Nation through a PCRM program across the Southwest, sharing plant based nutrition education with tribal communities while preparing and serving food at gatherings, connecting residents with resources, and collaborating with tribal leadership. A once hesitant youth group became engaged, affirming the healing possibilities of connection through food and culture. This work led to continued collaboration as a culinary consultant for PCRM's Native Food for Life program from 2015 to 2020, which concluded due to COVID 19 public health constraints and the pandemic's disproportionate impact on Indigenous communities.
Complementing this outreach, Ms. Poupore partnered with the Plant Based Nutrition Support Group to lead corporate and campus Lunch and Learn programs, delivering plant forward education to employees and students at leading global corporations and academic institutions, including General Motors and state universities. The series was suspended in 2020 due to COVID 19 public health restrictions.
Beyond her restaurant leadership and education initiatives, Ms. Poupore has served as a chef aboard the Holistic Holiday at Sea vegan cruise for seven sailings through the Caribbean and Alaska. She is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and was nominated to serve as Ambassador for her 2024 cohort, reflecting her commitment to entrepreneurial excellence and peer mentorship. She also contributed to the documentary Eating You Alive and is a featured collaborator in Detroit: City of Chefs III, slated for release in 2026, with multiple interviews that highlight Michigan agriculture, plant forward cuisine, and the healing power of food.
Ms. Poupore attributes her career to persistence, compassion, intention, and vulnerability, qualities that inspire collaborators and community partners to join her mission of advancing well being through food and education. Outside her professional endeavors, she enjoys time with her family and partner, caring for her dog, cooking, and spending time in nature. Looking ahead, she plans to establish Herban Grounds, a new café specializing in nourishing vegetarian cuisine with specialty coffee and tea, furthering her vision for health conscious, community centered hospitality.
