Mr. Behrens's early legal career saw him as an associate attorney at Lichter Immigration from 2017 to 2018 and as an associate immigration attorney at Hernandez and Associates, P.C. for the previous two years. These roles provided him with a solid foundation in immigration law and allowed him to build a reputation for his dedication to defending clients' rights. His most notable achievement was representing a Liberian client facing deportation due to alleged ties with a terrorist organization, despite living in the United States for many years since fleeing a civil war. Through diligent investigation and advocacy, Mr. Behrens successfully demonstrated the client's innocence, leading to the approval of his green card application.

Professionally involved, Mr. Behrens is an active member of the legal community, affiliated with the American Immigration Lawyers Association and Colorado Bar Association. Furthermore, he volunteered with both the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association and the Colorado Lawyers Committee to serve the local immigrant community.

Mr. Behrens's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in economics with a minor in Spanish from West Virginia University in 2012, graduating magna cum laude. He then earned his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law in 2015. His academic excellence was recognized with a CALI Award for receiving the top grade in the Immigration Law course and a law scholarship during his time at law school. Outside of his legal career, Mr. Behrens is passionate about traveling, volunteering and practicing yoga.
