ANTIOCH, CA, November 11, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who has selected Nicola K. Lopez, MBA, CDP, for inclusion in recognition of her professional excellence and leadership in senior care and dementia support. Individuals profiled in Marquis Who's Who are chosen for their current reference value, with consideration given to position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in their field.
Mrs. Lopez is recognized as a visionary leader in the senior care and dementia support sector. As Chief Executive Officer of Caring Haven LLC since 2023, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing quality, dignity, and compassion in elder care throughout the Bay Area. Under her leadership, Caring Haven has become one of the few agencies in the region led by a certified dementia practitioner, with approximately 70 percent of its staff trained specifically in dementia care.
Her daily responsibilities include meeting with medical professionals and staff to coordinate wraparound care services, supported by a nonprofit partnership that offers free, 24/7 emotional support for family caregivers. Mrs. Lopez remains deeply involved in recruiting and training caregivers, managing client care plans, and leading respite initiatives that provide relief for overwhelmed families.
The inspiration for Caring Haven stems from Mrs. Lopez's experience caring for her grandmother in Jamaica. Witnessing the challenges of finding quality, affordable support and the lack of respect often shown to seniors left a lasting impact. That experience fueled her lifelong mission to ensure seniors receive the dignity, patience, and quality care they deserve.
Mrs. Lopez considers founding Caring Haven her most meaningful professional accomplishment. While she values her years in corporate America, her greatest fulfillment has come from creating a purpose-driven organization that changes lives daily. Under her leadership, Caring Haven was voted Best Senior Care Agency in the Bay Area in 2024, an honor she credits to her team's dedication and compassion.
Before establishing Caring Haven, Mrs. Lopez held leadership roles in several major institutions. At Blue Shield of California, she served as Program Manager for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, designing and implementing initiatives that strengthened workplace belonging and representation. Earlier, she worked as a Corporate Trainer and Branch Manager at both Chase Bank and Bank of America, leading staff development and operational performance while cultivating a culture of service excellence. She also contributed to key projects with the Federal Reserve, gaining experience in strategic program management.
Mrs. Lopez earned her Master of Business Administration from Strayer University in 2011 and her Bachelor's in Business Management (Human Resources emphasis) from Kaplan University in 2009. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (National Council of Dementia Practitioners, 2023), a Certified Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practitioner (2023), and a Certified Life Coach (Life Purpose Institute, 2016).
In addition to her corporate and entrepreneurial accomplishments, Mrs. Lopez is an active civic leader. She serves as Founder and Board Chair of Caregiver OneCall, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free, nationwide support and resources for family caregivers. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Economic Opportunity Council of Contra Costa County and as a member of the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging, where she helps shape policy and improve services for older adults.
Her impact and service have been widely recognized. In 2025, Mrs. Lopez was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center and received an International Impact Book Award. She was also honored by Supervisor Shanelle Scales-Preston during Women's History Month for her outstanding contributions to senior care and community service.
A published author, Mrs. Lopez has written two books that reflect her commitment to advocacy and personal growth. When the Strong Get Tired: Real Caregiving Stories. Real Support. (2025) shares real-world insights and encouragement for caregivers, while Lesbian, Who Are You? A Journey Through Identity, Love, and Belonging (2025) explores identity and self-discovery. The latter received the International Impact Book Award and a Stonewall Book Award nomination.
Born in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica, Mrs. Lopez enjoys traveling, couponing, brunching, watching Netflix, and spending time with her family. Looking ahead, she is dedicated to expanding Caring Haven's reach and inspiring other agencies to adopt its compassionate care model. She also envisions Caregiver OneCall becoming a trusted national resource for caregivers everywhere.
