DAVENPORT, FL, November 12, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daryll Mackey has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Mackey has established a distinguished career marked by resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to personal and professional growth. Since 2023, he has served as a leadership and business coach and DISC practitioner with the John C. Maxwell organization. In this capacity, Mr. Mackey helps leaders identify their strengths and areas for growth through targeted coaching strategies, bridges communication gaps within teams to improve collaboration and effectiveness, and equips leaders with tools to positively influence their teams and drive desired results. He administers and interprets DISC personality assessments, revealing individuals' communication styles, strengths, and weaknesses, and guides clients on how to interact more effectively with different DISC personality types. His expertise in understanding the components of the DISC model—Dominant, Influential, Steady, and Compliant—has positioned him as a valuable resource for leaders across sectors, from small businesses to community organizations.

Before his current role, Mr. Mackey dedicated more than 30 years to public service as a city planner. From 1986 to 2014, he served as a city planning associate with the City of Los Angeles, where he contributed to the development and implementation of urban planning initiatives that significantly shaped the city's growth and infrastructure. His tenure in Los Angeles followed his earlier work as a senior comprehensive planner with the City of Newark, New Jersey, from 1980 to 1983. Throughout his career in urban planning, Mr. Mackey has developed expertise in leadership development, business development, behavioral analysis and assessment, technical analysis, technical report writing, problem-solving, and strategic solutions. Achieving this level of proficiency is a testament to his dedication and skill in navigating complex professional environments.

Mr. Mackey's academic background laid the foundation for his achievements. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning with a concentration in city, community, and regional planning from the University of the District of Columbia in 1981. He also completed coursework in business finance at Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1976. In 2021, he became a certified leadership coach through the John Maxwell Team, further enhancing his ability to empower others through coaching and mentorship.

He attributes his success to tenacity, perseverance, and making sound decisions at pivotal moments. Mr. Mackey recognizes the importance of having supportive mentors and acknowledges that surrounding oneself with individuals who share similar values and ambitions is crucial for growth. Despite growing up in a dysfunctional family, his mother played a key role in his development, such as reading the Sunday New York Times newspaper and watching 60 Minutes. Mr Mackey was impressed by Ed Bradeley, one of the investigative journalists on that show. Although he ultimately pursued a career in city planning, he believes his analytical skills and personality would have been better suited for a career path in investigative journalism.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Mackey has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement and philanthropy. He has supported organizations such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Save the Children the American Cancer Society. CARE, Wounded Warriors, and Habitat for Humanity, through Charitable donations. His volunteer work includes previous participation in the March of Dimes and AIDS Walk events. Additionally, he has been involved in political campaigns and elections and served on the school boards in Los Angeles.

Mr. Mackey's accomplishments have been recognized with awards from the American Planning Association and the University of the District of Columbia. These honors reflect both his professional excellence and his dedication to making a positive impact within his field.

On a personal level, Mr. Mackey is most proud not only of his professional achievements but also of overcoming significant adversity throughout his life. Growing up in a challenging family environment and struggling with low self-esteem during his early academic years, he persevered to become a successful city planner, and I am now striving to be an accomplished coach. He values the wisdom gained through these experiences, including having raised two daughters.

Mr. Mackey approaches life with resilience and determination, guided by metaphysical principles and an understanding of the law of attraction. Living with aphantasia, known as mental blindness, a condition that makes mental visualization impossible for him, he is exploring alternative methods for manifestation that leverage his other strengths and senses. With an acute awareness of life's impermanence, he is committed to intentionally creating a meaningful existence through focus, mindset, and continual learning.

Looking ahead, Mr. Mackey aims to develop a thriving coaching business that empowers individuals to make positive changes in their lives and communities. He remains dedicated to sharing his knowledge and inspiring others to realize that one's starting point does not determine their ultimate destination.
