CLARKSVILLE, IN, November 12, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Kevin Lamb, DMus, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by his leadership, educational excellence and a profound impact on both church and community music programs, Dr. Lamb has led a distinguished career of five decades in the music industry. Most recently, he retired from his role as the director of music for Trinity United Methodist Church, where he continues to hold the honorary title of director emeritus. Although he officially retired in December 2024, he remains engaged with the church, completing several unfinished projects and maintaining his commitment to musical excellence.

From 2014 to 2025, Dr. Lamb directed the Chancel Choir and Handbell Choir, planned worship services, conducted hymns and led community performances at Trinity United Methodist. His tenure was characterized by his dedication to fostering musical growth within both his congregation and the broader community. Notably, he has played the organ for church services since October 26, 1975, and is planning a celebration to commemorate 50 years of continuous service in this role.

Prior to his work at Trinity United Methodist, Dr. Lamb contributed significantly to music education in public schools for nearly two decades. During this period, he taught choir and music theory to students in grades six through 12, later focusing exclusively on the high school level while also supervising elementary music programs. His influence extended beyond the classroom as he guided talented voice students, some of whom earned full scholarships in college programs due to their preparation and skills under his mentorship.

A recognized expert in musical presentations, Dr. Lamb conducted guest organ concerts in Europe and has directed 50 musicals across nearly 30 of the United States from 1983 to 2004. He often directed two to three musicals annually, incorporating both community theater productions and high school musicals into his work. His passion for musical theater began at age 18 when he approached the parks department to direct his first musical following his freshman year of college.

Dr. Lamb also played a significant leadership role in dramatic productions, collaborating with others to ensure their success. At the Jennie Gebhart Hedden Music Study Club, he performed Handel's Messiah for the community on multiple occasions, further demonstrating his commitment to sharing music and the performing arts with broad and diverse audiences.

While teaching his students, Dr. Lamb also attended Indiana University and earned a doctorate of music degree. During his time there, he served as an associate instructor in choral conducting for two years and was assistant director of the Singing Hoosiers, further honing his expertise in choral leadership and performance. His outstanding contributions in the area of organ performance in Europe and throughout the United States saw him named as a distinguished alumni by Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music in 2023.

In addition to the doctorate he obtained at Indiana University, Dr. Lamb holds a Master of Arts in Education and a bachelor's degree in music education from the Indian University. His early interest in music was fostered by his parents, who encouraged him to take piano lessons beginning at age 6. Inspired by his experiences in church and the high school choir, he developed a lifelong passion for teaching and working with young people.

To share his extensive musical knowledge and expand his network, Dr. Lamb has been actively involved in professional organizations such as the Reed Organ Society, the American Theatre Organ Society Inc. and the National Association for Music Education. Maintaining a strong connection with his educational roots, he is a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association and an alumnus of Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. Also a national officer and member of the American Guild of Organists for nearly a decade, he has been affiliated with the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Organ Historical Society.

Though he is now enjoying retired life, Dr. Lamb continues to nurture his enduring love of music. He continues to engage musically so he can enjoy playing the organ and singing in his personal time, bringing joy to those around him as he has done for his students, congregations and around the world for five decades.
