FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, November 17, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tammi Hart has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mrs. Hart has led a remarkable career in supplier diversity and procurement and is currently the senior purchasing manager of global supplier engagement and compliance at Tenneco, a top automotive manufacturing and designer. Over the course of her more than 13-year tenure, she cultivates relationships with a variety of suppliers that are eager to collaborate with the business. Her specialty is putting suppliers in touch with internal stakeholders so they can take part in sustainable contract bids. Her dedication to promoting supplier diversity in the corporate sector is demonstrated by her ability to assist decision makers in connecting with the perfect partners.
Mrs. Hart's journey into supplier diversity began unexpectedly after she first pursued a career in engineering change management. While working for a previous employer, she was tasked with customer reporting responsibilities that led to her introduction to supply diversity. She accepted training to become a subject matter expert, which proved transformative and set the course for her professional trajectory. Having served in the field for more than two decades to date, she has continually advanced through leadership roles, taking pride in the relationships she has built and the impact she has made by championing underrepresented suppliers.
Prior to beginning her tenure at Tenneco, Mrs. Hart served as a program management system coordinator, engineering change management at Faurecia Interior Systems from 2012 to 2013, during which she managed engineering modifications and facilitated communication between departments to ensure the seamless implementation of changes. Before joining Faurecia, she held roles with the State of Michigan as a supplier diversity professional and later as a information technology buyer. In each of these positions, she was responsible for procurement processes and promoting inclusive sourcing practices within state-level operations.
Mrs. Hart's professional affiliations reflect her dedication to advancing supplier diversity on a broader scale. She is an active member of the Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals and was elected to the role of director of membership for the organization beginning in January 2026.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mrs. Hart earned a master's degree in strategic management from Davenport University, which provided her with the advanced leadership and organizational skills essential for managing complex procurement functions. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Phoenix, equipping her with foundational business acumen that continues to influence her strategic approach to supplier engagement.
To augment her ability to implement best practices in sustainability and diversity initiatives, Mrs. Hart has obtained multiple certificates. She is certified as a sustainability environmental, social and governance (ESG) practitioner and holds the supplier diversity masterclass black belt certification from Supplier IO as well as a certificate in supplier diversity excellence from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Reflecting on her storied journey from program management to supplier diversity, Mrs. Hart attributes her success to her faith and the unwavering support of those who believe in her — particularly her husband and sister, both of whom have encouraged her throughout her career. Their belief and support has inspired her to step beyond her comfort zone, embrace new opportunities and maintain confidence in her skill set.
In addition to her professional achievements, Mrs. Hart has a strong commitment to community service and civic involvement. Her membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. demonstrates her lifelong commitment to leadership and service to all mankind. She also volunteers with many groups that address food insecurity, education, and wellness, and she is the chair of Tenneco Inc.'s Black African Heritage Employee Resource Group.
Mrs. Hart has received numerous honors for her exceptional contributions to her industry and community, including the National Veteran Business Development Council's President award, the Michigan Salute from Corp! Magazine, two Diversity Business Leader awards, and Advocate of the Year from the Great Lakes Women's Business Council in 2023. She is a happy mother of two grown girls and has been happily married for over 20 years. She values her family life and finds that hiking and massages help her balance her professional responsibilities.
Going forward, Mrs. Hart is dedicated to advancing supplier diversity by ensuring that efforts involving underrepresented vendor groups are supported both inside and outside of companies like Tenneco. She exemplifies an enduring legacy of leadership, resiliency, and service to others in everything she does. She is dedicated to integrating these objectives thoroughly into business cultures so they can flourish for a very long time.
