DOUGLASSVILLE, PA, November 18, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shannon R. Dalton, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Dalton has established herself as an expert in the pharmaceutical industry. She currently serves as a director of clinical science at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, where, since 2024, she leads cross-functional teams overseeing clinical research initiatives and contributing to advancement of innovative therapies. Dr. Dalton's leadership and scientific acumen have proven instrumental in driving the organization's clinical development strategies.

Before progressing to her current appointment, Dr. Dalton excelled as an associate director of clinical development at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. from 2023 to 2024. In this capacity, she played a key role in managing clinical programs and ensuring regulatory compliance for investigational products. From 2021 to 2023, Dr. Dalton thrived as the associate director of early development at Endo Inc., where she capably guided a team of scientists through pre-clinical and early-phase clinical trials to bring new therapies from concept to clinic. Prior to this role, Dr. Dalton served as a principal clinical scientist at Endo Inc. from 2018 to 2021, where she collaborated on protocol development and data analysis for phase 1-3 clinical studies.

In each position, Dr. Dalton relied on experience gained as a global senior clinical scientist at CSL Behring from 2016 to 2018, during which time she managed global clinical projects and facilitated communication among international research teams. From 2013 to 2016, she thrived as a senior research investigator at iCeutica, following an earlier role as a research investigator between 2012 and 2013. Dr. Dalton's work focused on drug formulation and delivery systems, contributing to the company's portfolio of pharmaceutical innovations.

In her role as a teaching assistant at Bryn Mawr College from 2006 to 2008, Dr. Dalton demonstrated broad support of undergraduate education in chemistry, and she proudly taught and mentored students in laboratory techniques. From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Dalton worked as a study delivery operations specialist at AstraZeneca, and as a clinical data manager at Merck & Co., earning valuable experience in clinical trial logistics.

The pursuit of academic excellence prompted Dr. Dalton to complete a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Wilson College in 2002, where she was recognized with the Outstanding Chemistry Major Award for academic excellence. She subsequently completed a Master of Arts in bioinorganic chemistry at Bryn Mawr College in 2004, after which she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in bioinorganic chemistry from the same institution in 2009.

Dr. Dalton's postdoctoral experience includes appointments as a research associate at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia from 2011 to 2012 and at Haverford College's chemistry department from 2009 to 2011. These signature roles provided her with opportunities to gain deeper expertise in biological and chemical research and additional skills that would inform her career objectives. Notably, Dr. Dalton is also an accomplished scholar with nine publications featured in peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific knowledge within her field.

A defining moment in Dr. Dalton's career occurred during her graduate studies at Bryn Mawr College when she encountered a significant challenge in her biochemistry lab: the undergraduate students responsible for synthesizing the transition metal complexes required for her DNA interaction studies had graduated. Undeterred by her limited background in inorganic synthesis, she undertook the task herself. While examining data for one particular compound which had always behaved differently in her DNA binding experiments, she questioned the interpretation of the characterization techniques historically used by the lab. Her determination led her to Haverford College for access to mass spectrometry equipment, where she discovered a discrepancy in the molecular structure of that compound compared to previous findings, explaining the altered behavior observed in her DNA experiments. This realization prompted her to refine the synthesis process and repeatedly verify results until achieving the correct structure under new reaction conditions. This experience provided Dr. Dalton with key concepts that would shape her career: confidence in mastering new skills, the importance of following her instincts, the value in fostering "outside the box" thinking, and most of all, perseverance.

Since 2021, Dr. Dalton has concurrently served as the owner of Cavan Dreams Farm, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to personal interests outside the pharmaceutical sector. She attributes her success to determination and persistence, which has propelled her through challenges and enabled her accomplishments across academia and industry, and she achieves balance by working with horses and maintaining an active lifestyle. Looking toward the future, Dr. Dalton aims to advance within her current role and make an impact on patient quality of life through her work in the pharmaceutical industry.
