In 2021, Mr. Irizarry led a pioneering effort as chair of the board at Bio-Restorative Ideas LLC, establishing the first commercial biochar manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. By transforming bamboo into high-quality biochar, his company has improved soil health and contributed to climate change mitigation by absorbing carbon dioxide. This innovative initiative has attracted international attention, including interest from European companies such as Zurich Insurance, and has showcased Puerto Rico's potential in sustainable solutions. Mr. Irizarry's accomplishment is deeply meaningful, as it supports over two dozen families in Puerto Rico and demonstrates that a small firm from a challenged region can deliver global value.

In addition to his current role, Mr. Irizarry serves as quality and compliance director at PSI and as quality and compliance adviser for Inteldot, both roles he has held since 2017. He was also a senior automation consultant for Oxford Global Resources from 2017 to 2020 and a product owner at CINCO Engineering between 2018 and 2020. In 2017, he worked as a senior project manager on a self-employed basis.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Irizarry held several key roles at Pharma-Bio Serv, beginning as a consultant and business developer from 2011 to 2013. He then advanced to knowledge management and business development manager through 2015, and subsequently served as a senior technical consultant between 2015 and 2016. In addition, he contributed as a quality risk management instructor from 2012 to 2013, further demonstrating his expertise in both technical and managerial capacities.

Prior to his tenure at Pharma-Bio Serv, Mr. Irizarry gained valuable experience in a variety of industries. He managed local census operations for the U.S. Census Bureau from 2009 to 2010 and oversaw logistics at Unlimited Media Group between 2006 and 2008. He began his professional journey as a quality auditor at Cordis LLC from 2004 to 2006, following his time as a process engineer assistant at Pfizer in 2002 and 2003, building a strong foundation in quality assurance and operational processes.

Throughout his career, Mr. Irizarry has maintained active involvement in numerous professional organizations that shape and advance the pharmaceutical industry. He is a dedicated member of ASTM International, contributing through the E55 Committee, which develops standards for pharmaceuticals. His commitment to industry collaboration extends to his participation in the Parenteral Drug Association and the Minority Business Enterprise, as well as his experience as a keynote speaker or lecturer at various conferences and organizations that invite him to share his unique perspective on how to enable sustainable compliance, impacting professionals across many countries such as Perú, Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and others.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Irizarry pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in 2003. In addition to his degree, he holds an MBE certification from the National Minority Supplier Development Council for the years 2025 to 2026.
