Mr. Hartford's earlier tenure at ZEVX Inc., headquartered in Phoenix, represented a significant phase of his career; he served as Vice President of Sales from 2023 to 2024 and as Director of Sales for the East Region from 2022 to 2023. During this time, he led a groundbreaking initiative to convert bucket trucks to electric power, a project many believed to be unfeasible. From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Hartford served as Northeast Sales Manager at XL Fleet in Greater Boston, following his roles as Direct Sales Manager from 2020 to 2021 and Regional Sales Manager for the East from 2019 to 2020. He began his association with XL Fleet as a National Accounts Sales Representative in 2019. During his tenure, he supported several significant hybrid-vehicle deployments for major institutional and municipal fleets. Mr. Hartford's early career in the electric vehicle industry began at Tesla in Dedham, Massachusetts, where he served as a Tesla Advisor in 2019, an Owner Advisor from 2018 to 2019, and a Customer Experience Specialist in 2018. These positions provided foundational experience in electric vehicle sales, customer engagement, and product education. Before joining Tesla, Mr. Hartford completed an internship with CoolGreenPower LLC in Boston in 2017, a company focused on developing retrofit technologies for commercial HVAC systems to reduce energy consumption, emissions, and operating costs. This experience introduced him to sustainability-focused innovation and helped shape the trajectory of his professional interests.

Mr. Hartford's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with double minors in Environmental Studies and Religious Studies from Colby College, completed in 2018. This multidisciplinary foundation has informed his approach to sustainability and environmental stewardship throughout his career. He also holds an Advanced Open Water Diver certification and a Dry Suit Specialty certification from PADI, reflecting his passion for the environment and exploration.

Although he initially pursued premedical studies with the intention of becoming an orthopedic surgeon, he ultimately chose a career path that would allow him to enter the workforce sooner and make a more immediate impact. Outside of his career, Mr. Hartford enjoys scuba diving, golfing, snowboarding in the winter, and spending time with his dog.
