Mr. Womble is recognized for a prominent career defined by adaptability, vision and a commitment to excellence for more than 30 years in both military and civilian sectors. As the director of program development at SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security (SANS) Institute since 2022, he meets with customers to assess their training needs, develops comprehensive assessments to evaluate candidate capabilities and builds tailored training programs to grow federal businesses.

Mr. Womble's expertise lies in transforming knowledge, skills and abilities into customized programs that bridge the gap between workforce skill sets and operational expectations. Through his leadership and guidance, several hundred individuals within SANS Institute have achieved successful outcomes, underscoring his ability to enhance workforce capabilities and support the federal government in preparing personnel for cyber-related positions.

Alongside his role at SANS Institute, Mr. Womble has served as a leader in development, motivational speaker and certified executive coach with LWM III Consulting since 2014. In this capacity, he has provided guidance on leadership development and personal growth, drawing on his extensive experience to inspire others to improve themselves and the lives of others through authenticity and continuous learning.

From 2020 to 2022, Mr. Womble served as the training lead for CP71 Army Cyberspace Effects at the United States Army Civilian Human Resources Agency, where he was responsible for supervising all cyber personnel training within the Army while collaborating with the federal government. His efforts ensured that training programs met evolving operational requirements and prepared numerous personnel within the Department of Defense for emerging threats.

During this time, Mr. Womble also held the position of training lead and career program specialist for CP-71 Cyberspace Effects at United States Army Cyber Command. During this period, he developed innovative programs for both Army Cyber soldiers and civilians, overseeing pilot programs and assembling an effective long-term cyberspace effects workforce.

From 2014 to 2019, Mr. Womble served as a cyber training officer with the United States Army Cyber Protection Brigade at Fort Gordon in Georgia. Defining the role of defensive cyber operator and establishing required training protocols, he played a pivotal role as one of the founding figures of the Army's cyberspace operations program. His work was eventually adopted across all branches of the military and has influenced federal government training initiatives nationwide.

Prior to his focus on cyber operations, Mr. Womble excelled as the program director for the Command Sergeants Major Development Program from 2012 to 2014. In this capacity, he built training programs and schools for military civilians, shaping future brigade and battalion commanders within the United States Army.

Mr. Womble's earlier service includes a tenure of more than a decade as command sergeant major, during which he led units such as the 63rd Expeditionary Signal Battalion from 2009 to 2012 and the 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion from 2007 to 2009. Throughout his military career of more than 30 years — which included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan — he demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the training, retention and safety of soldiers and their families.

To share insights and expand his professional network, Mr. Womble is an active member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club — a private organization created to cultivate, inspire, and motivate future leaders within the U.S. Army — the Project Management Institute, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Womble earned a Master of Arts in organizational leadership in 2014 and a Bachelor of Arts in educational leadership and administration in 2012, both from Excelsior University. To augment his qualifications, he completed business development boot camp with Shipley Associates in 2025 and was certified as a project management professional by the Project Management Institute in 2023. Furthermore, he was certified as an executive coach through DevOps Institute Mumbai in 2016, enhancing his abilities as a public and motivational speaker.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Womble is committed to helping those in need as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and as a volunteer assisting elderly individuals at local shelters. His contributions have seen him recognized through prestigious honors including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Distinguished Service Medal and the Legion of Merit. He is also widely acknowledged as one of the influential personnel within the cyber community.

In his personal life, Mr. Womble is happily married and a proud father of two children, both of whom are college graduates themselves. He cherishes spending time with his family and enjoys going to the gym, working out and watching football games with his daughter as an avid Washington Commanders fan. Reflecting on his storied journey from military command to cyber operations and executive coaching, he emphasizes that anyone can pivot to a new direction in their life so long as they hold a clear vision and the drive to succeed.

Looking to the future, Mr. Womble remains dedicated to helping people unfamiliar with cybersecurity gain essential knowledge about its requirements while promoting better cybersecurity hygiene among the general public. He also advocates for greater diversity within cybersecurity by encouraging more women and minorities to pursue careers in this dynamic field, highlighting that opportunities are abundant for those willing to embrace change and professional growth just as he has.
