WASHINGTON, D.C., November 25, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Perry G. Trueax has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Trueax's distinguished career in financial management and audit oversight is marked by a series of progressive leadership roles and transformative achievements. He retired in 2025 after serving as the section head of the financial improvement and audit remediation unit and property unit with Strategic Systems Programs, capping a tenure that began in 2009. In this capacity, he was instrumental in managing the audit division, which was a critical responsibility given that the Department of Defense was the last federal agency mandated by Congress to undergo an audit in 1992. At the outset, he established the division with just two contractors, meticulously testing all internal processes within the command — including payroll, travel and contracting — to ensure robust internal controls.

Among Mr. Trueax's most notable accomplishments during this period was the development of audit programs and the creation of an entirely new unit. He designed processes and procedures, recruited and developed staff, and provided mentorship to employees primarily in their 20s and 30s while he was in his late 60s. He personally identified high-performing contractors and encouraged them to transition into government roles, successfully building a cohesive team despite significant resistance from engineers unaccustomed to audit processes. Communicating these changes to upper management required perseverance and support from the Senior Executive Service.

Prior to his leadership at Strategic Systems Programs, Mr. Trueax served as a systems accountant with the Federal Aviation Administration from 2007 to 2009, during which time he oversaw complex accounting systems and ensured compliance with federal regulations. From 2006 until 2007, he worked as an accountant for the Department of Education Federal Student Aid office, where he managed financial records and supported federal student aid programs through diligent accounting practices.

Between 2003 and 2006, Mr. Trueax held the position of systems accountant at Military Sealift Command, following his time as a consultant with Visionary Integration Professionals from 2002 to 2003. As a senior consultant at Braun Consulting Group from 2000 until 2001, he advised organizations on best practices in finance and technology integration.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Trueax served as the director of finance and technology at Conservation International between 1992 and 2000, leading financial operations and implementing technological solutions. He previously worked as an accounting supervisor for IEEE Computer Society from 1989 to 1992.

From 1986 until 1989, Mr. Trueax worked as a business analyst at Mead Data Central Inc., analyzing business processes and supporting data-driven decision-making. This followed his role as an accounting supervisor at World Wildlife Fund between 1981 and 1985, during which time he managed manual bookkeeping processes.

Mr. Trueax began his professional journey after leaving his family's dairy farm in 1975 upon graduating high school. He initially entered the hotel industry as a management trainee at Best Western International Inc., where he spent two years performing diverse duties, including bartending, front desk operations, auditing and housekeeping tasks.

Though initially completing coursework at Harrisburg Area Community College after high school, Mr. Trueax later earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Columbia Union College in 1992. These educational experiences provided him with essential business knowledge while reinforcing values instilled during his upbringing on a farm — resourcefulness, perseverance and adaptability — which have been central to his professional success.

Throughout his career, Mr. Trueax has been recognized for his dedication and impact with numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the United States Department of the Navy in 2023, a Meritorious Honor Award in 2023 and several accolades for his service with Strategic Systems Programs, among other honors.

Reflecting on his professional pursuits during retirement celebrations, Mr. Trueax expressed gratitude for having positively influenced colleagues through guidance, mentorship and knowledge transfer — qualities that have defined both his leadership style and enduring legacy. Looking ahead, he has set personal goals focused on travel, intending to explore new parts of the world.
