SEATTLE, WA, November 26, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christopher Wright has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Wright has established a distinguished career in commercial and construction litigation, marked by nearly three decades of expertise and leadership. Since 2017, he has served as a partner at Carney Badley Spellman PS in Seattle, where he represents large general contractors, owners and public entities in complex construction disputes. His responsibilities include handling contract negotiations for long-standing clients and guiding them through intricate legal challenges. After five years with the firm, Mr. Wright became head of litigation, a role that allows him to mentor younger attorneys and foster the next generation of legal talent.
Before joining Carney Badley Spellman PS, Mr. Wright was the managing partner of the Seattle office at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar and Fitzgerald LLP from 2008 to 2017. During his tenure, he managed high-profile cases across the U.S. and internationally, establishing himself as a leading authority in construction law.
Mr. Wright began his legal profession in 1997, where he spent over 10 years as a partner at Ashbaugh Beal (formerly Stanislaw Ashbaugh) in Seattle. During these influential years, he garnered expertise in construction litigation, working with some of the top contractors in the industry and handling matters in as many as 15 states and overseas.
Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Wright worked at The Wherehouse, a record store in Southern California. This early experience taught him valuable lessons in customer service and communication that would later inform his client-centered approach to law.
Mr. Wright's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He completed a bachelor's degree at the University of California, Riverside, in 1993, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Washington in 1996.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Wright is a member of several industry organizations, such as the ABA Forum on Construction Law and the Washington State Bar Association. He is also a past chair for international law with the Pacific Rim Advisory Council.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wright has been recognized for his trial work and leadership within the legal community. Among his most notable achievements was a successful defense in an Idaho federal court case, where he represented a medium-sized contractor against Wood International. The case resulted in a full recovery for his client and reimbursement of 80% of attorney fees. More recently, Mr. Wright led a three-month trial on behalf of the Seattle Convention Center involving claims initially exceeding $100 million. By trial's end, claims were reduced to $25 million with entitlement to partial fees, which is considered a significant recovery within the industry.
Mr. Wright's professional excellence has been recognized through several honors, including being named a Washington Super Lawyer and selected as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Washington for two consecutive years. Additionally, he has contributed to firms ranked among the Top 50 Construction Firms. Attributing much of his success to his genuine care for clients, Mr. Wright invests his time in them to fully understand their needs to achieve favorable outcomes. His dedication is especially crucial in construction law, where clients frequently face substantial financial risks.
Looking ahead, Mr. Wright aims to continue supporting his clients and colleagues while mentoring emerging leaders within his firm, ensuring continuity of service and strong client relationships as he eventually steps back from daily practice. He also seeks greater involvement as an arbitrator, leveraging his extensive experience to provide fair resolutions within the field.
