In 2023, Ms. McGee was a research associate II at Sangamo Therapeutics in Brisbane, California. There, she contributed to advanced therapeutic projects, applying her knowledge of bioengineering and computational biology to support the company's mission of developing transformative genomic medicines for patients facing serious genetic diseases.

Ms. McGee's professional journey also includes experience as a formulation scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Pleasanton, California, from 2022 to 2023. During this time, she was responsible for optimizing drug formulations and ensuring product stability, further solidifying her reputation as an expert in research techniques and pharmaceutical property optimization.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Ms. McGee earned a Master of Science in bioinformatics and computational biology from the University of South Florida in 2021, equipping her with many of the advanced analytical skills crucial for modern pharmaceutical research. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in bioengineering from Stanford University, graduating in 2020.

Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, Ms. McGee served as an orientation coordinator for the Undergraduate Advising and Research Department at Stanford in 2017 — a foundational role that allowed her to develop organizational and leadership skills that would prove essential throughout her career. Furthermore, she was a member of Stanford Black Scientists and Engineers and competed on the school's varsity track and field team. Her rigorous academic training and devotion to helping her fellow students saw her recognized with the Stanford Dedication Award.

Ms. McGee's decision to pursue a career in science was influenced by her upbringing in a military family and shaped by personal experiences with complex medical issues during her childhood. These formative years instilled in her a determination to seek better solutions for challenging health problems. A dedicated member of the Society of Women Engineers, she actively engages with industry peers and helps other women advance in their respective fields.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. McGee has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to civic engagement and mentorship. She served as a teacher, coach and mentor for Coach for College in 2016, fostering educational opportunities for young students in Vietnam. From 2014 to 2015, she was an Area 7 Leadership Academy instructor with the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) Leadership Academy, where she developed sailing lessons, drilling techniques and etiquette teachings for aspiring cadets.

Happily engaged to be married, Ms. McGee enjoys collecting and reading classic books as a balance to her professional responsibilities. She remains focused on advancing drug discovery and optimization with the goal of bringing significant new therapies to patients through clinical trials or approval processes — an ambition that continues to drive her ultimate goal of utilizing her scientific knowledge and leadership for the long-term benefit of society.
