Bill has earned a distinguished reputation in ecology and biology, marked by expertise in wetland mitigation and ecological restoration. As a senior ecologist and restoration specialist at Delta Land Services LLC since 2011, he assists project managers, troubleshoots technical issues, develops critical documents, prepares management plans and monitoring reports, and a mentor. His work encompasses a broad range of ecosystems, including upland and forested wetlands and grasslands (marshes and prairies). From 1999 to 2009, he was on faculty at McNeese State University as a tenured assistant professor. During this successful period in academia, Bill managed the natural resource curriculum with the purpose of graduating employable, productive young citizens.

In each key appointment, Bill relied on valuable experience gained as a partner at Simon and DeLany LLC from 1995 to 2001, capably applying his scientific knowledge to consulting projects focused on ecological restoration and land management. He also gathered foundational experience between 1990 and 1995 as a Natural Resource Manager for Miami Corporation, where Bill managed large conservation acreages by implementing best management practices for ecosystem sustainability and human needs.

Earlier in his career, from 1987 to 1990, Bill held the position of assistant refuge manager and biologist with law enforcement responsibilities at Sabine National Wildlife Refuge, Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Here, he gained important insights into wildlife protection and coastal marsh management. Additionally, Bill served honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1975 to 1979, where he developed discipline and leadership skills that would guide his approach to meet life's challenges.

Exceptional academic achievements further define his presence in the natural resource field. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management from McNeese State University in 1983; a Master of Science in Wildlife Management from Louisiana State University in 1985; and a Doctor of Philosophy from the LSU School of Human Resource Education and Work Force Development in 2004. He has also secured professional credentials that reflect his passion for conservation management. He is a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner through the Society for Ecological Restoration and a Professional Wetland Scientist through the Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program. Notably, he became a member of Phi Kappa Phi in 1983, which indicated indicates his foundation for academic excellence and professional development.

Bill's early years were spent hunting and fishing in the forests, swamps, marshes, and agricultural fields of Southwest Louisiana that inspired his lifelong dedication to understanding land ecology. This formative connection with nature continues to influence his professional philosophy, He also acknowledges the support of mentors and colleagues along the path of his development, which each helping hand helped to find new opportunities.
