LAKE OSWEGO, OR, December 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chelsa Bocci has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Renowned for her ability to build mission-driven organizations and cultivate meaningful, global communities, Ms. Bocci has established herself as a leading authority in brand development and community engagement. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Choice Mama, operating under the broader Choice Life, LLC umbrella. Through this venture, she is dedicated to empowering women in their late 30s and early 40s who dream of becoming solo mothers.

More than a platform, Choice Mama is a cultural movement—one that seeks to normalize and celebrate non-traditional family structures while offering coaching, courses, and community at every stage of the Choice Motherhood journey. Ms. Bocci works directly with clients each day, providing one-on-one and group coaching sessions via Zoom and building a global community where women can pursue motherhood on their own terms. As a proud solo mother herself, she is committed to helping women expand their sense of possibility and embrace new approaches in parenthood, partnership, and in pursuing their purpose work.

Since 2021, Ms. Bocci has also operated Chelsa Bocci Coaching, where she serves as a transformational coach specializing in life and career transitions. Drawing on her leadership background and lived experience, she began her practice with a focus on executive coaching before expanding it to encompass whole-life transformation. Her work integrates a thoughtful blend of methodologies—including human design, mindset and somatic practices, nervous system regulation, emotional healing, subconscious reprogramming, and behavior change. Long passionate about helping others grow into their fullest potential, she supports clients in navigating major life pivots with clarity, courage, and grounded confidence.

Prior to launching her coaching career, Ms. Bocci spent 16 years building Kiva.org, the world's first peer-to-peer microlending platform, which she co-founded in 2005. Throughout her tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping many of Kiva's most iconic programs and teams. In Global Partnerships, she established and managed microfinance relationships across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. In Operations & Talent, she built Kiva's global operational infrastructure—including the 500+ person volunteer program and the Kiva Fellows initiative. In Marketing & Community, she led a full organizational rebrand, launched Kiva's new mission/vision/values, and cultivated a loyal global lender base. Later, in People & Culture, she championed employee engagement and talent development across Kiva's international workforce. These roles honed her expertise in launching mission-driven brands, nurturing vibrant communities, and using technology to foster human connection. She now channels that same experience, heart, and vision into Choice Mama.

Before co-founding Kiva, Ms. Bocci began her professional career at Barclays Global Investors in San Francisco, where she served as a senior recruiter and immigration specialist from 2003 to 2004. Her desire to contribute more directly to social impact work led her to leave Barclays and embark on a formative journey through Southeast Asia with her sister. There, she participated in tsunami relief efforts in Thailand following the 2004 disaster, an experience that profoundly deepened her commitment to humanitarian work. She later volunteered at Fikelela Children's Center near Cape Town, South Africa, supporting children affected by HIV/AIDS—a role that strengthened her passion for global development and ultimately set the stage for her work with Kiva.

Upon returning from Africa, Ms. Bocci reconnected with Matt Flannery and Jessica Jackley, who were then developing the idea that would become Kiva—an opportunity that would define much of her professional legacy over the next decade and a half.

Ms. Bocci earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2000. Her academic training provided a strong foundation in understanding human behavior—expertise that has been invaluable throughout her career in both nonprofit leadership and coaching.

Committed to continuous learning, Ms. Bocci received her coaching certification from the Institute for Coaching Mastery in 2021. She also holds certifications in social performance management, behavioral interviewing, talent selection, risk management strategies, and human resources management, deepening her leadership capabilities across all areas of her work.

Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Bocci credits her success to her unwavering optimism, her belief in human potential, and her ability to recognize and act on opportunities to make a meaningful difference. These qualities have guided her through significant professional and personal choices—including her bold decision to become a solo mother through IVF after selecting a donor—experiences that now inform her leadership of Choice Mama and her coaching practice.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Bocci has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement and community service. Since 2024, she has served on the board of the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, which equips civil servants, educators, mental health workers, and others with mindfulness-based emotional intelligence tools. She has also mentored emerging leaders through the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) and volunteered with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity Portland Region, Oregon Food Bank, and the Thai Red Cross.

Additionally, Ms. Bocci played a key role in large-scale initiatives such as Matter to a Million, a global effort to expand access to capital for underserved entrepreneurs, and served as a core contributor to Kiva's major 2015–2016 rebrand and redesign with SYPartners.

Born in Portland, Oregon, Ms. Bocci recently returned to her hometown—now living in Lake Oswego with her daughter, Kaia—after many years in the San Francisco Bay Area. She regards her decision to have a child on her own as one of her proudest accomplishments, alongside her co-founding of Kiva.

Looking ahead, Ms. Bocci envisions Choice Mama becoming the cornerstone of her life's work. She is committed to developing a platform that is both intentional and deeply supportive—one that offers knowledge, community, and pathways to empowerment for women making bold, authentic choices about motherhood. Her lifelong dedication to expanding what is possible for individuals, families, and communities now converges in her mission to uplift and champion the next generation of solo mothers.
