IRVINE, CA, December 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lynn E. Capouya, ASLA, ISA, LEED AP, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Capouya is a prominent figure in landscape architecture, recognized for her expertise in sustainable design, drought-tolerant landscapes and water efficiency. As the president of Lynn Capouya Inc. Landscape Architects since 1987, she has led the firm through nearly four decades of growth and innovation. Under her leadership, the company has deliberately focused on infrastructure, educational institutions and corporate developments, and Ms. Capouya's team collaborates with general contractors, architects, engineers, public agencies and private clients on large-scale projects that often span several years.

Having built an impressive client base, the portfolio of Lynn Capouya Inc. Landscape Architects includes significant contributions to major expansion projects at Los Angeles World Airports and involvement in the Brightline West project connecting Rancho Cucamonga to the California state line and onward to Las Vegas. The company is also engaged in the development of a large data center in Arizona and the new corporate headquarters for the Orange County Retirement System in California. Her deep commitment to education is evident through her work on projects for MiraCosta College, San Jacinto College, Norco College and the Los Angeles Community College District. Notably, Ms. Capouya has also played a key role in numerous highway, roadway and metro rail initiatives, including the recently completed Crenshaw Corridor in downtown Los Angeles.

Throughout her career, Ms. Capouya has been lauded for her signature ability to coordinate complex projects involving existing trees—assessing risk, longevity and integration into new landscapes—and for her skill in maximizing visual aesthetics while minimizing resource use. Additionally, Ms. Capouya relies on an approach that emphasizes landscape sustainability and water efficiency, ensuring that each project enhances its environment.

Before launching her firm, Ms. Capouya gained valuable experience working as a consultant on major hospital facilities in Alabama. She successfully navigated an initial uncertainty about her capabilities and later joined a drafting pool at a large firm after relocating to California. After networking extensively and becoming active with the Society for Marketing Professional Services in Los Angeles, Ms. Capouya was elected to the board due to her insightful contributions.

Leveraging lists of firms involved in Metro Rail projects, Ms. Capouya built relationships that led to project opportunities across transportation and healthcare sectors. Her work with KinderCare marked a pivotal point; she managed landscaping for approximately 200 locations across California and developed connections that opened doors to projects with McDonald's, Sizzler, Home Depot and other retail giants. These relationships prompted Ms. Capouya's entry into lower education facility design and franchise market expansion, including developing master plans for the Del Taco franchise.

While her professional journey is distinguished by long-standing partnerships with talented staff and clients since 1987, Ms. Capouya's tenure at the Port of Long Beach stands out as a career highlight. She led teams on multiple projects along Pico Boulevard, integrating efforts between two engineering firms and establishing a master plan that resulted in a 15-year engagement with phased landscape improvements linked to broader port initiatives. Today, she continues to contribute to active projects at the port, revisiting work completed three decades ago. Ms. Capouya considers these enduring relationships as the core of her advancement and takes pride in having built a business fundamentally based on trust and collaboration.

Ms. Capouya proudly earned a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture with an emphasis on sustainability long before it became an industry standard. Her undergraduate studies focused on drought-tolerant landscapes and water efficiency, principles that have defined her presence in the industry. Ms. Capouya has also secured distinct professional credentials, including certified arborist through the United Latino Students Association; licensed landscape architect in multiple states including Alabama, California and Arizona; and certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation.

Ms. Capouya is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Landscape Architects, the International Society of Arborists, WTS chapters across Southern California, the Business Development Association of the Inland Empire and the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce. She is also affiliated with the Asian American Architects and Engineers Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Works Association, and Ms. Capouya serves as a board member for the March Airfield Museum.

A passion for civic engagement drives Ms. Capouya to support Rescued Unwanted Furry Friends and to serve on advisory groups such as UCI Health Pacific Breast Care Center. She also contributes to the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge through Dr. Rick Van Etten and aids educational programs at UCLA Extension and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Additionally, Ms. Capouya assists as an adjudicator for various award programs, serves on grant committees such as Impact Giving and advocates for Solutions for Urban Agriculture.

Ms. Capouya's achievements have been recognized with several awards, including Small Business Person of the Year from the Orange County Transportation Authority in 2024 and the Romana Acosta Bañuelos Entrepreneurial Leadership Award from AMAC, also in 2024. She has also been featured at the White House Conference by Orange County Register in 2012. As a recognized thought leader in her field, she has served as a speaker for the Orange County Transportation Authority and for the Small Business Administration and has published articles in LASN Magazine. Additionally, Ms. Capouya supports Samantha Khury, a longtime friend known for interspecies communication, in editing manuscripts related to animal communication.

To achieve balance, Ms. Capouya enjoys the performing arts, spending time with family and cooking; she is also passionate about animal welfare and maintains an active lifestyle through Pilates and gyrotronics workouts. Looking toward the future, she plans to write a book featuring quotes from her experiences accompanied by personal reflections, and Ms. Capouya will pursue research collaborations targeting landscape health and wellness with colleagues who specialize in herbal healing formulas.
