Mr. O'Gara has distinguished himself over a 45-year career in printed circuit board design, culminating in his retirement as a design engineer at Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon, in 2023 after a 12-year tenure. At Intel Corporation, he served as the lead designer on complex boards for testers, where his technological innovations and board designs remain state-of-the-art. His expertise ensured that product designs were nearly always one hundred percent accurate upon manufacturing. Mr. O'Gara was involved in every stage of the process, from concept and layout to design, engineering reviews, testing and manufacturability, demonstrating a comprehensive command of both hardware and software integration.

Prior to his tenure at Intel Corporation, Mr. O'Gara managed a design group of thirty-two direct reports for seven years at Ford Aerospace and Loral Space Systems. Under his supervision, the team designed the power supplies for the International Space Station, marking a significant contribution to aerospace technology. This role stands as his most notable professional achievement.

Before joining Ford Aerospace and Loral Space Systems, Mr. O'Gara worked as a contract designer in Silicon Valley for fifteen years. During this period, he contributed to various companies, further refining his skills in printed circuit board design and establishing himself as an expert in the field. His strong understanding of software functionality complemented his hardware expertise, allowing him to deliver innovative solutions across multiple projects.

Earlier in his career, Mr. O'Gara spent seven years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory after being invited by his father-in-law, a physicist at the institution. This opportunity arose due to Mr. O'Gara's top secret clearance and experience in drafting. His work at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory provided him with exposure to advanced scientific research environments and further developed his technical proficiency. While at Lawrence Livermore National Labs Mr. O'Gara designed the first Printed Circuit Board using Computer Aided Design Software to place components, autoroute all connections and generate all outputs needed to manufacture the physical PCB in Electronic Design History.

Mr. O'Gara began his professional journey in 1973 as a drafter at the Nevada Test Site. Initially employed as a janitor, he engaged with the engineering drafting staff during his duties. When a position became available, he was encouraged to apply due to his existing top secret clearance and was subsequently hired. This early experience laid the foundation for his future achievements in engineering and design.

Educationally, Mr. O'Gara earned a diploma from Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia, in 1971. Beyond his studies, he attributes much of his success to being in the right place at the right time, the wiliness to step outside your comfort zone a perspective that has guided him throughout his career and enabled him to seize pivotal opportunities that shaped his professional path.
