RICHMOND, VA, December 09, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Curtis L. Gardner has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Serving as a logistics specialist since 2002 and a contract specialist since 2019 with both the United States Army Reserve and the Virginia Army National Guard, Mr. Gardner has built a distinguished career in military service and government contracting. He works with National Guard units across Virginia to facilitate the procurement of services and supplies that surpass the micro-purchase dollar thresholds and cannot be obtained through the military ordering system. One of his top professional achievements is successfully completing his first indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract in early 2025. This four-year contract, valued at over $250,000, delivered essential health care-related services throughout Virginia for military and civilian federal technicians. Currently, Mr. Gardner is procuring meal-delivery blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) for Virginia Army National Guard members in three major areas of Virginia. Each BPA will be valued at $350,000.
Mr. Gardner's professional journey includes several pivotal roles prior to becoming a contract specialist. In 2019, he served as a supply technician with Defense Logistics Agency, supporting logistics operations critical to national defense. From 2018 to 2019, he was a materials technician for the City of Richmond in Virginia, contributing to municipal supply chain management and resource allocation.
Earlier in his journey, Mr. Gardner worked as a materials management specialist at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University for two years, during which he played an integral role in ensuring the efficient flow of medical supplies within a health care environment. He began his civilian career as a warehouse supervisor at B&B Printing from 2011 to 2012, overseeing inventory control and distribution operations.
During his service with the United States Army Reserve and Virginia Army National Guard, Mr. Gardner furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2015. To augment his knowledge and qualifications in federal acquisition regulations, he was certified as a Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act level 1 contractor in 2021 and achieved level 2 certification in 2022.
Throughout his storied career, Mr. Gardner has been recognized for exemplary service and commitment to continuous professional growth. His accolades include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Service Ribbon, and Army Overseas Service Ribbon. Furthermore, he was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, and the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon — all by the United States Army between 2003 and 2010.
Equally devoted to supporting veterans with disabilities and promoting community well-being, Mr. Gardner is civically engaged as a volunteer with the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. Reflecting on his well-traveled journey, he attributes his success to approaching every day as if it were his first in every role he undertakes. He values humility and believes that openness to different perspectives and a willingness to try new approaches are essential qualities for growth and achievement. Motivated to improve every situation he encounters, he continues to seek opportunities for advancement in both the military and contracting sectors.
Looking to the future, Mr. Gardner plans to continue serving as an officer in the United States military, with aspirations to become a company commander. In his role as a contract specialist, he aims to secure an increased warrant authority and serve as a contracting officer for future office initiatives. His service to his country, dedication to community service, and prospective goals alike reflect a longstanding legacy of resilience, modesty, and a commitment to helping those in need in everything he does.
