In this capacity, he is responsible for reviewing and validating models and quantitative methods utilized by the bank, as well as conducting stress testing to ensure robust risk management practices. Prior to these endeavors, he held the position of audit manager and senior vice president at Bank of America from 2018 to 2019, where he was instrumental in overseeing audit processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

From 2015 to 2018, Dr. Ergashev served as senior manager at EY, where he contributed to the advancement of financial modeling and risk assessment strategies for clients in the banking sector. His earlier roles include serving as senior financial economist at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency from 2013 to 2014, where he provided critical economic analysis to support regulatory oversight.

Dr. Ergashev's tenure as lead financial economist at The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond from 2006 to 2013 was pivotal in shaping his expertise in financial economics and risk management. Throughout these positions, he has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and innovation in quantitative finance.

A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Ergashev is also an active member of the American Statistical Association, reflecting his dedication to professional development and engagement with industry peers.

His academic background is both extensive and foundational to his success. Dr. Ergashev earned a Doctor of Philosophy in financial economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2006, which provided him with advanced analytical skills essential for his work in model validation and risk management. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematical statistics from Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, completed in 1991, equipping him with rigorous statistical training that underpins his expertise in quantitative techniques. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Tashkent State University in 1986.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Ergashev is deeply committed to civic engagement and philanthropy. He personally equipped and renovated the property—creating a playground, building a large kitchen for meal preparation and installing necessary safety features—to ensure it serves as a safe and nurturing environment for children. Additionally, he contributes to education initiatives in Uzbekistan, supporting efforts that foster learning opportunities for young people.

Dr. Ergashev's personal interests include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in which he currently holds a brown belt and is working toward earning his black belt. He is also dedicated to personal development outside the workplace; for over a year, he has offered weekly courses on effective communication, time management and habit formation, sharing insights gained throughout his career with younger generations.
