Mr. Disalvo currently serves as a special education facilitator for the Clark County School District, a role he began in 2024. Prior to his current position, Mr. Disalvo was an assistant facilitator for the Clark County School District from 2020 to 2024. During this period, he contributed to the development of educational programs and provided support to both students and fellow educators. From 2011 to 2020, he served as an educator within the same district, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the academic journeys of countless students.
Before relocating to Nevada, Mr. Disalvo spent more than a decade teaching in New York City. From 1999 to 2011, he held dual roles as a social studies teacher at Rambam Mesivta. At Rambam he taught U.S. history, global history and government courses at both Regents and honors levels. Under his instruction, student averages on Regents exams improved from 86 to 90, setting a new benchmark for the school's history department. His principal recognized his consistent ability to raise student performance year after year, an achievement unmatched by others in the department. Mr. Disalvo also served as a mentor for other teachers and helped establish a model for team teaching and co-teaching within the school.
In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Mr. Disalvo acted as Model United Nations team leader, organizing overnight trips for students to Philadelphia where they competed in the National Model United Nations conference and earned awards and honorable mentions.
Mr. Disalvo's professional journey began in finance as a stockbroker from 1994 to 2001 after being inspired by his father, a day trader. Despite receiving job offers from friends who owned investment companies, he chose instead to focus on giving back by teaching others how to invest using his own blueprint, a decision rooted in his desire to help children and make a positive impact on their lives.
His academic background includes a master's degree in special education from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, which he completed in 2010. This advanced training equipped him with specialized skills that have been instrumental throughout his career as an educator and facilitator. Mr. Disalvo also holds a bachelor's degree in adolescent education with a minor in history from C.W. Post, Long Island University in Brookville, New York.
Among his recognitions is an honorable mention award received at the National Model United Nations conference, a testament to his leadership and commitment to student achievement. Mr. Disalvo attributes his success to his diverse experiences and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all walks of life—whether affluent or less fortunate—and treating everyone with equal respect. This approach and his goal to help others succeed have fostered trust among colleagues, students and families alike.
Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Disalvo has demonstrated civic engagement through volunteer work with after-school programs at schools across New York City, Long Island and Las Vegas. His dedication to student enrichment extends beyond the classroom into extracurricular activities that support youth development.
Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Disalvo enjoys cooking Italian, Mexican and Chinese cuisine and values spending time on vacation with his wife. Together they share their home with three dogs whom they cherish deeply. Looking ahead, he aspires to establish a consulting company dedicated to assisting parents and students with special needs by drafting individualized education programs (IEPs), securing accommodations and guiding families through educational milestones.
