Before joining Amazon, Mrs. Flowers-Mitchell served as executive vice president of global creative advertising at Sony Pictures Entertainment from 2019 to 2023. During her tenure, she spearheaded the marketing campaign for "The Woman King," a project that stands as the highlight of her career. This campaign was particularly significant as it unfolded during the post-George Floyd era and as the country emerged from COVID-19. The film featured an all-female Black cast and was directed by a Black woman, bringing much-needed representation to the industry. Mrs. Flowers-Mitchell played an integral role in championing and executing this campaign, making it a defining moment in her professional history.
From 2010 to 2019, Mrs. Flowers-Mitchell held the dual titles of executive vice president and executive creative director for theatrical and home entertainment at Trailer Park. In this position, she led creative teams in developing innovative advertising strategies for major film releases, further establishing her reputation as a visionary leader in entertainment marketing.
Between 2007 and 2010, she was president of home entertainment at Open Road Entertainment. Here, she oversaw strategic initiatives that expanded the company's reach in home entertainment marketing, demonstrating her ability to adapt to evolving industry trends.
Mrs. Flowers-Mitchell began her ascent in the field as an associate producer at The Ant Farm from 2004 to 2010. Her early work provided a foundation in production and creative development that would inform her later successes.
Her professional achievements are underscored by numerous accolades, including multiple Golden Trailer Awards, including Best Drama TV Spot for a Feature Film in 2023, Best Trailer for Legit Broadway, Best Animation Family Trailer, Best Action Trailer, Best Action TV and Most Original Trailer. She has also received Creativity International Awards for AV Presentation and several Key Art Awards recognizing excellence in home entertainment audio-visual campaigns.
A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Mrs. Flowers-Mitchell is recognized among her peers for her creativity within the industry and her passion for advancing the career paths for young people.
Mrs. Flowers-Mitchell's academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in business communications from California State University, Long Beach. She further enhanced her expertise by completing the Access (Netflix x Otis College of Art & Design) Entertainment Certificate Program. These educational experiences have provided her with a strong foundation in both communication strategy and creative execution.
