Earning recognition for his expertise and leadership in petroleum, safety management and occupational health, Mr. Bergeron has led an accomplished career of more than 40 years in the oil and gas industry. Since 2005, he has excelled as a deepwater subsea installation and completion specialist with Oxy in Houston, Texas. In his role, he oversees various vendors responsible for installing equipment on offshore rigs — including Kerr McGee, Anadarko and currently Occidental Petroleum — ensuring all of their installation and testing procedures are executed correctly to prevent future operational issues.

Mr. Bergeron's responsibilities require him to travel extensively to drillships operating primarily in the Gulf of Mexico, where he applies his technical acumen to complex completion work after wells are drilled. Despite the repetitive nature of some tasks, he finds each project uniquely challenging and fulfilling, taking pride in successfully completing each assignment before returning home.

Concurrently, Mr. Bergeron is an independent oilfield consultant with Bergeron Consulting Corporation, a firm he established in 2005. Leveraging his comprehensive knowledge of oil rig operations and subsea installations, he has provided critical guidance and oversight on offshore projects for two decades. His consulting work is marked by a commitment to safety, efficiency and quality control, attributes that have contributed significantly to his professional reputation.

Prior to working as a consultant and installation specialist, Mr. Bergeron built a solid career foundation as a lead service technician at Cameron Iron Works, later known as Cameron, from 1982 to 2005. During this period, he honed his field service skills and developed an in-depth understanding of oilfield equipment and systems that continues to serve him in his current endeavors. His early experience as a mechanic further contributed to his technical proficiency and problem-solving abilities.

Mr. Bergeron's educational background also laid significant groundwork for his longstanding success in the energy industry. He earned a diploma in automobile and automotive mechanics technology from Louisiana Vocational and Technical School in 1975, following his graduation from Vandebilt Catholic High School the same year. To augment his knowledge and qualifications upon entering the workforce, he also became certified as an automotive mechanic.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bergeron has been recognized with multiple accolades in honor of his years of service in the energy sector. Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, he credits his dedication to continuous learning, strong retention skills and ability to perform under pressure as key factors in his achievements.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Bergeron cherishes spending quality time with his family. He is the proud father of two daughters and is actively involved in the lives of his two grandchildren, who reside with his eldest daughter in Morgan City, Louisiana. Also an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys participating in a hunting club, tracking white-tailed deer, riding motorbikes and working on trucks.

Having dedicated more than four decades of outstanding service to the oil and gas industry, Mr. Bergeron is looking forward to retiring from full-time work while continuing to find fulfillment in both his professional accomplishments and personal interests.
