Mr. Uhlir has established a distinguished career in information technology, marked by decades of expertise in database administration and mainframe environments. Since 2025, he has served as the ADABAS and Natural database administrator at Harmonia Holdings Group LLC, where his responsibilities include tracing performance issues, interfacing with z/OS personnel who manage hardware and mainframe operating systems, upgrading software and supporting a diverse client base with complex technical challenges. His in-depth knowledge of ADABAS and related products, coupled with his commitment to sharing knowledge, has made him an asset to the organization.

Prior to joining Harmonia Holdings Group, Mr. Uhlir was a part-time infrastructure management senior analyst and ADABAS senior system administrator at Atos from 2023 to 2024. In this capacity, he continued to provide high-level support for one of the largest databases in North America under contract for the state of Texas. Between 2014 and 2023, he held these roles at Atos in a full-time capacity, demonstrating exceptional leadership by assuming the responsibilities of two retiring database administrators. During his first year in this position, he single-handedly managed extensive database operations, resolved various system crashes and successfully restored critical data — an accomplishment that stands out as a highlight of his career.

From 2012 until 2013, Mr. Uhlir served as a mainframe offering manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he oversaw mainframe solutions and contributed to strategic service offerings. His tenure as a software installer and infrastructure specialist with the company from 1998 to 2012 allowed him to refine his technical skills and deepen his understanding of enterprise-level systems.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Uhlir was a senior customer support representative at Software AG between 1992 and 1998, during which time he provided expert assistance on ADABAS products. His foundational experience as a systems analyst at AlliedSignal and Bendix Automotive from 1986 to 1992 laid the groundwork for his future achievements in information technology. Outside the technology sector, he previously managed a machine shop and served as a deputy sheriff, demonstrating versatility and leadership across diverse fields.

Recognizing that traditional college programs did not offer the specialized training required for data processing during its formative years, Mr. Uhlir pursued technical education that directly supported his ambitions. He completed studies at the Midwest School of Automation in 1968 and the Electronic Computer Programming Institute in 1969.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Uhlir has earned numerous certifications that underscore his expertise in mainframe environments and security. These include CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in 2025, Mainframe Application Programmer and Assembler Programming - Expert from Interskill Learning in 2021, Mainframe Specialist - IBM and Mainframe Environment - Fundamentals from Interskill Learning in 2021, and several others.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Uhlir attributes his success to hard work and determination. From junior high school onward, he was captivated by data processing — a field then in its infancy — and pursued it with unwavering dedication. He credits his achievements to knowing what he wanted early on and committing himself fully to learning and excelling within the industry.

Looking ahead, Mr. Uhlir plans to fulfill his current contract providing database support for Harmonia Holdings Group before considering permanent retirement or part-time work. On a personal level, he and his wife are preparing for retirement with domestic and international travel plans.
