Mr. Leavell has established a distinguished career marked by expertise in safety consulting. As the managing partner of Markice Leavell Consulting LLC since 2024, he has demonstrated a commitment to advancing safety standards and professional development within the industry.
In this capacity, Mr. Leavell has been instrumental in bridging the gap between carpenters within the union and the safety sector. His efforts have enabled individuals from similar backgrounds to transition into safety roles, significantly increasing their earning potential and opening pathways to upper management. By guiding these professionals, he has empowered them to leverage their experiences for the benefit of others.

In addition to his leadership at Markice Leavell Consulting LLC, Mr. Leavell is a partner at L&A Logistics LLC and a Founding Partner in On The Rise Music Group and Apparel. He further serves as the co-owner of Taste of Roses, with locations across Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana.

Prior to his current roles, Mr. Leavell held several key positions that shaped his professional trajectory. From 2024 to 2025, he contributed as a safety management professional at Safety Management Group, where he was responsible for implementing comprehensive safety protocols. From 2021 until 2025, he served as an environment, health and safety manager at Walbridge, overseeing critical health and safety initiatives on major projects. During this time he worked both directly for Walbridge and subcontractors supporting them. He led sites that will play a part in changing the future of America.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Leavell worked as a carpenter with the Central Midwest Carpenters Local Union No. 357 between 2009 and 2019. He maintained an active membership with the union until 2025 when he retired. During this period, he also gained experience as a safety professional at Superior Electric Great Lakes Company from 2022 to 2024.

From 2020 until 2023, Mr. Leavell was employed as a process safety engineer at Mazda Toyota in Madison, AL for corporations including D.H. Griffin Companies, where he developed expertise in risk assessment and hazard mitigation. He also served as a safety consultant for Safety Plus from 2019 to 2020 and for Progressive Mechanical Inc. during the same period.

Providing Mr. Leavell with a strong foundation for his work in both construction and safety management was his academic background, which began with an associate degree focused on occupational safety and health, and continued with his Safety Education from the University of Cincinnati. He subsequently earned an Associate of Applied Science from Ivy Tech Community College in 2013, followed by an Associate of Applied Science in building construction technology from the same institution in 2014.

Beyond his formal education, Mr. Leavell's professional credentials include certification as a safety professional by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration since 2018 through completion of OSHA 510, EM 385 training, and also the NFPA 70 E. He is also recognized as a Construction Health and Safety Technician by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Among his professional accolades is recognition for completing the third-year apprenticeship program as Top of his Class in the Region through IKORCC JATF in 2012. There he also earned and has been considered a Heavy Hitter and trained at the Carpenter's International Training Facility in Leadership.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Leavell attributes his success to God, his ancestors and his wife — sources of inspiration that have guided him throughout his journey. Recognizing his potential while he was working as a carpenter, a mentor encouraged his entry into the safety profession, urging him to pursue additional training and committee involvement to build his resume.

Outside his professional endeavors, Mr. Leavell's contributions extend to civic engagement, where he actively supports and volunteers for community initiatives, such as back-to-school drives and providing hot meals for the neighborhood. Looking ahead, he aims to develop Markice Leavell Consulting into a certified veteran- and minority-owned company. Being a parent of a child born a genius on the spectrum he looks forward to creating online content with his son and wife that will support, raise awareness, and teach other parents and their children how to embrace their differences, enhancing their basic life skills.
