Dr. Harbron's distinguished career in education spans more than five decades, marked by a steadfast commitment to student well-being, staff development and community unity. In 2025, he established WRH Coaching and Consulting LLC, where he serves as executive coach and consultant. In this capacity, Dr. Harbron focuses on coaching individuals, drawing on his extensive experience to support professional growth and resolve workplace challenges. His transition into consultancy was inspired by his passion for one-on-one coaching, which he found most rewarding during his tenure as superintendent.

Leveraging his success in both teaching and administration, Dr. Harbron served from 2017 to 2025 as a school superintendent and chief executive officer for the Dover School District (SAU 11) in Dover, New Hampshire. When he arrived, the district was deeply divided due to prior leadership challenges. During his first two years, Dr. Harbron faced significant adversity, including three student suicides and a racial incident involving a teacher. These experiences tested his resolve but ultimately strengthened his character and deepened his wisdom, guided by faith and a belief in the importance of caring leadership.

Before his work in Dover, Dr. Harbron served as a superintendent for the West Muskingum Local School District in Ohio from 2011 to 2017. Earlier, he spent nearly a decade as a superintendent in the Northern Ozaukee School District in Wisconsin, between 2002 and 2011, during which he implemented initiatives to improve academic performance and foster collaborative environments.

Dr. Harbron worked briefly in consulting from 2001 to 2022 with CESA 7 in Wisconsin, providing expertise in educational leadership and organizational improvement. His initial role as a superintendent was at the Denmark School District from 1999 to 2001, where he began to solidify his reputation for effective leadership. Dr. Harbron's administrative journey began with principalships at several schools, starting in 1977. His teaching career began as an elementary school teacher in the Edgewood City School District from 1973 to 1976, followed by a year teaching at Forest Park-Green Hills City School District until 1977.

Highly educated in his field, Dr. Harbron received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and teaching and a master's degree in educational leadership from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1973 and 1976, respectively. He later acquired a Specialist Degree in educational leadership and administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, completed in 1998, and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration from Edgewood University in Madison, Wisconsin, earned in 2007.

Dr. Harbron is an active member of several professional organizations, including the New Hampshire School Administrators Association, Cambridge Leadership Associates, the District Administration Leadership Institute, the Buckeye Association of School District Administrators, the American Association of School Administrators and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Throughout his career, Dr. Harbron has been recognized for his expertise in professional development and team building. He presented area workshops on the Honor Level Discipline Program for the Wisconsin Association for Middle Level Education and led sessions on creating high-performing teams. He also presented at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee North Shore Conference on Professional Learning Communities and served as a guest lecturer for classes at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, St. Norbert College and Marian College.

Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Harbron has contributed significantly to civic organizations as an advisory board member of the Strafford County YMCA and as a co-founder of the steering committee for the Dover Mental Health Alliance. He also earned the Eagle Scout rank in 1967.

Dr. Harbron's achievements have been recognized with several accolades, including a Hall of Fame Award in 1989 and an Ohio Middle Level Component Award in 1990 from the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. He later received the Dale Carnegie Course Highest Award of Achievement in 2002. Dr. Harbron attributes his success to the values instilled by his parents and the lessons learned through scouting and mentorship early in life. In the coming years, he is interested in expanding his public speaking engagements while continuing to focus on individual coaching.
