Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Currently serving as a senior solution sales engineer at Giro Pack, Inc. (USA) — which specializes in packaging and shipping products within the fresh food supply chain — Mr. Sellers has led a distinguished career of nearly 10 years in the agricultural and engineering sectors. In his role, he collaborates closely with the president of operations to align company objectives, engages with supervisors and senior staff to identify areas for improvement, and oversees facility redesigns to enhance operational efficiency. His approach emphasizes optimizing processes and integrating improvements across various facilities, resulting in streamlined workflows and increased productivity.
During his tenure at Giro Pack, Mr. Sellers achieved a significant milestone by securing a multi-million dollar project within his first year. This accomplishment not only underscored his ability to generate substantial interest and momentum for the company's initiatives but also solidified his reputation as a dynamic leader who excels at driving projects forward. His efforts have contributed meaningfully to Giro Pack's ongoing legacy as it celebrates its centennial anniversary, continuing its tradition of innovation in mesh bag manufacturing and packaging machinery for produce.
Prior to joining Giro Pack, Mr. Sellers was a solutions engineer at TOMRA Food from 2021 to 2024. In this role, he applied his technical expertise to develop solutions tailored to client needs in fresh fruit sorting and grading, further honing his skills in process optimization and customer engagement.
From 2016 to 2021, Mr. Sellers held the position of application engineer at Flowserve Corporation, where he was responsible for designing and implementing engineering solutions for industrial clients in the vertical turbine sector. In 2020, he also served as an interim sales engineer at Flowserve, managing client relationships and increasing sales quotas during a transitional period for the company.
Mr. Sellers began his professional journey began as an electrical technician at Raytheon in 2012, where he gained practical experience in technical operations and repaired multiple integrated laser engagement systems.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Sellers earned a Master of Science in engineering from the University of California, Riverside in 2020. He previously completed a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at Norwich University, graduating in 2015. Notably, he maintained his focus on mechanical engineering throughout his undergraduate studies, completing the program within four years — a testament to his determination and discipline.
Determined to make an impact outside the classroom at Norwich University, Mr. Sellers contributed to academic research and project development as a senior project member from 2014 to 2015 and as an undergraduate research fellow in 2013. Furthermore, he was an active member of the Applied Engineering Club, the Robotics Club, and the Engine Club.
To augment his technical proficiency and ability to integrate programming solutions into engineering projects, Mr. Sellers was certified as an entry-level Python programmer by the OpenEDG Python Institute in 2024.
Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Mr. Sellers attributes much of his success to the mentorship he received throughout his career and the influence of his mother, whose decision to teach high school mathematics for the United States Department of Defense led the family to relocate to Germany when he was 9 years old. Growing up abroad gave him valuable exposure to diverse cultures and perspectives, shaping his communication skills and broadening his understanding of global approaches to problem-solving — qualities that have been pivotal to both his personal development and professional achievements.
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just as he was entering high school, Mr. Sellers faced early challenges that required daily management with an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor. Despite receiving discouraging predictions from medical professionals regarding his future prospects at the time, he leveraged these obstacles as motivation to excel academically and professionally. His strong type A personality and attention to detail has long fueled his drive for achievement and inspired him to support others facing adversity — an ethos reflected in his involvement with Lions Clubs International.
Now happily married and a proud father, Mr. Sellers and his wife have one child together and are in the process of expanding their family by adopting his 16-year-old nephew. As a balance to his professional endeavors, he maintains an active lifestyle through sporting activities such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Sellers aspires to advance to a director position, overseeing sales engineers across regions in the United States and Canada, with support from a dedicated U.S.-based team. He also aims to establish greater autonomy within the U.S. division of Giro Pack by building a self-sufficient team capable of managing complex projects independently.
Throughout his life and career, Mr. Sellers has demonstrated resilience, initiative, and an unwavering commitment to continuous growth — qualities that continue to define his contributions both within the agricultural industry and the broader community.
