NORTH HAVEN, CT, January 09, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lisa Michelle Spearman, LCSW, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Spearman has established herself as a dedicated mental health therapist, demonstrating expertise in providing comprehensive care to a diverse clientele. Since 2021, she has served at Shoreline Wellness Center, where she manages a caseload of 65 to 70 clients ranging in age from six to 76. Her responsibilities include delivering therapy services to individuals, couples, families, adolescents and children, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, trauma and significant life changes. Ms. Spearman is recognized for her ability to build rapport with clients from the outset, conducting thorough intake assessments to understand their unique needs and guide them through the therapeutic process.

In addition to her ongoing work at Shoreline Wellness Center, Ms. Spearman is set to join Grow Therapy, further expanding her impact within the field. Her commitment to accessible care is exemplified by her decision in 2024 to obtain licensure in Alabama after being approached by an individual seeking her services.

Prior to her current roles in mental health therapy, Ms. Spearman contributed her skills at the Agency on Aging from 2018 to 2020. Her professional journey began with a distinguished 17-year tenure as a senior administrative assistant, including service at Yale New Haven Hospital within Yale New Haven Health. During this period, she balanced administrative responsibilities with early exposure to social work settings. She considers this extensive experience as one of her most notable achievements, particularly as she navigated the demands of single parenthood and later expanded her family through adoption. Her perseverance in completing a master's degree while raising children stands as a testament to her resilience and commitment. Ms. Spearman later married her husband, Louis D'Amora—also an LCSW—who shares her commitment to providing mental health services to those in need.

Educationally, Ms. Spearman's academic background includes a master's degree from Southern Connecticut State University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the same institution in 2007. Furthering her expertise, she holds several professional credentials as a mental health therapist in Alabama and a licensed clinical social worker. Additionally, she has completed Training in Adoption Competency (TAC), equipping her with specialized knowledge to support adoptive families.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Spearman attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her family. As a single mother during pivotal moments in her career and education, she relied on their encouragement and assistance—especially when adopting two children who are full siblings. Her family's involvement has been instrumental throughout her journey.

Ms. Spearman's inspiration for entering the mental health field stems from personal experience as an adoptive mother and from stories shared by her father, who was raised in foster care without formal adoption. Early experiences babysitting for families further solidified her desire to support both biological and adoptive children. Over time, Ms. Spearman's focus has broadened from supporting families involved in adoption and foster care systems to serving individuals across all situations.

Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Spearman is civically engaged as a donor of clothing, eye glass frames and canned goods within her local community. She enjoys an active personal life centered around spending time with her husband, six children and two dogs. She also pursues interests like ballet, lyrical, West African and hip-hop dance classes, traveling for culinary experiences and sewing.

Ms. Spearman wants others to know they are not alone in life. She emphasizes the importance of understanding that dedicated professionals in social work are committed to their success and are willing to listen without judgment. She offers support and guidance with complete transparency and no hidden agenda. When someone seeks her out, she welcomes them openly, ready to listen and understand their goals. Rather than directing their aspirations, she prioritizes hearing their perspectives and ensuring they feel genuinely heard.

Looking ahead, Ms. Spearman remains committed to advancing mental health support for both children and seniors while also continuing to focus on increasing adoption competency among families. She aims to expand training programs and provide more individualized guidance so that families feel prepared for the challenges associated with adoption and foster care. Through these efforts, she seeks to ensure that children and families have an understanding of the unique experiences influenced by loss, identity, trauma, belonging, and related dynamics and that resources are readily available for those navigating complex transitions.
