BROOKLYN, NY, January 13, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laura A. Howard, PMP, CMILT, CSM, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Howard has led an impactful career spanning more than 40 years in the corporate sector, with nearly three decades dedicated to the technology industry. Her current role as the senior technical program manager at MongoDB in the New York City Metropolitan Area, which she began in 2023, marks a significant chapter in her professional journey. Reporting directly to the vice president of the financial technology (fintech) organization, she oversees a team of architects and engineers responsible for supporting enterprise systems. Her responsibilities include managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating closely with engineering teams to drive Agile transformation and enhance applications and platforms.
Prior to joining MongoDB, Ms. Howard served as a senior program manager for enterprise technology at Peloton Interactive in New York from 2021 to 2023. During her tenure, she helped advance the company's technological infrastructure and was actively involved in Peloton's Pride at Peloton resource group, which provided her with a safe and supportive environment to come out publicly as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
From 2020 to 2021, Ms. Howard held the position of project manager for system, application and product (SAP) implementation at Peloton, where she was pivotal in overseeing critical business system integrations. Before starting her tenure at Peloton, she contributed her expertise as a project manager for business and information technology processes at Inventy in Brooklyn, where she developed digital roadmaps that helped the company identify areas of improvement as well as cost-saving opportunities.
Ms. Howard's earlier experience includes nearly a decade of service at SAP in New York City, where she ascended up the ladder to become a center of excellence program service delivery lead after excelling as a senior support engineer from 2013 to 2015. Initially joining the company in 2008, she worked as an information technology service management service delivery consultant for four years, setting up workshops for technical upgrades, managing client teams and improving centers of excellence throughout the company.
Relocating to the United States from her native England in 1998, Ms. Howard joined Southco, Inc. to establish an automated warehouse for latch fastening products — a project that was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. This initiative centralized inventory from multiple locations across the Northeastern United States into a single facility, resulting in improved on-time delivery, enhanced product quality and reduced overhead costs. This accomplishment remains one of her most significant professional milestones. Serving as the global supply chain and operations manager from 1998 to 2008 and project lead for SAP implementations from 2006 to 2008, she was recognized with the CEO Award for her outstanding performance.
Before venturing onto her professional path at Southco, Ms. Howard pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in operations management and supervision from the University of Warwick in 1995. To augment her knowledge and ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively, she was certified as a project management professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute in 2022 and as a ScrumMaster by Scrum Alliance in 2023. Furthering her skills in the IT sector, she is also information technology infrastructure library (ITIL 4) certified.
Reflecting on her storied journey thus far, Ms. Howard attributes her success to resilience, determination and perseverance — qualities that have guided her through both personal and professional challenges, including surviving her battle with breast cancer.
Beyond her corporate roles, Ms. Howard is also committed and civic engagement and mentorship. Since 2025, she has served as a mentor with LGBT Tech and is also the global lead for The Queer Collective at MongoDB. She previously mentored students at Business Technology Early College High School from 2016 to 2017 and has supported the Center Against Domestic Violence by donating personally knitted baby blankets.
Ms. Howard's leadership within the LGBTQ+ community is further exemplified by her work during Transgender Awareness Week at MongoDB, where she brought together representatives from both the technology sector and the armed forces — including Colonel Bree Fram of the United States Space Force — to share their experiences as transgender individuals. Her exemplary efforts have improved visibility, hope and compassion within the community.
In her personal life, Ms. Howard is the proud mother of one stepson and maintains an active lifestyle through hobbies like knitting, biking around New York City, traveling, cooking vegan meals and writing.
Looking to the future with determination, Ms. Howard aims to continue advancing advocacy for the queer community at MongoDB while expanding her mentorship efforts with LGBT Tech. Focused on further career growth within her organization while making a lasting impact through mentorship and leadership initiatives, she continues to build her legacy of helping others through everything she does.
