BROOKLYN, NY, January 13, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lloyd L. Pipersburgh, MBA, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Pipersburgh celebrates many years' experience in his professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Pipersburgh's distinguished career in law enforcement spans more than three decades, marked by a steadfast commitment to service, leadership and innovation within the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Since 2015, he has held the title of detective first grade with the NYPD, becoming the first native-born Belizean to attain this rank. In this capacity, Mr. Pipersburgh has played a pivotal role in supporting surviving families of line-of-duty deaths, serving as the department's longest-tenured liaison since 2002. Over the past 10 years, he has been instrumental in shaping and expanding the parameters of this position, ensuring that families receive ongoing support and recognition. His responsibilities also include acting as the unit's historian on line-of-duty matters and as technology officer, where he applies his expertise to streamline operations and enhance communication.

Having begun his career with the NYPD in 1988 as an auxiliary police officer, Mr. Pipersburgh gained experience in public safety service, which led to his appearance on a widely distributed recruitment poster alongside New York Mets players Jon Franco and Frank Viola. Over the next 15 years, he earned the titles of police officer and field training officer for the New York City Transit Police. He also taught as a law instructor and tutor for the Police Academy.

As unit technology officer from 2002 to 2025, Mr. Pipersburgh modernized internal systems and maintained daily contact with field representatives and families impacted by line-of-duty incidents. His work was especially vital in the aftermath of September 11th, ensuring that cases remained at the forefront of departmental memory. From 2003 to 2010, Mr. Pipersburgh worked as a detective specialist, then as a detective second grade, until 2015, when he was promoted to his present position as a detective first grade.

Throughout his career with the NYPD, Mr. Pipersburgh held various other positions. From 2006 to 2018, he excelled as a coordinator for the integrity review board. This initiative originated from recommendations following the KNAPP Commission's 1971 investigation into police corruption. The board recognized officers who demonstrated exceptional integrity, such as refusing bribes, thereby boosting morale and reinforcing ethical standards within the force. Mr. Pipersburgh coordinated recognition processes for these officers, a responsibility he regards as one of his proudest achievements.

Mr. Pipersburgh also represented the NYPD on the Police Foundation Scholarship Board of the New York City Police Foundation Inc., contributing nearly a quarter-century of experience to scholarship selection processes and advocating for educational advancement within the department, between 2009 and 2020. Furthermore, from 2011 to 2025, Mr. Pipersburgh served as the NYPD liaison to the Silver Shield Foundation, providing guidance and support to children of fallen officers, particularly in helping them qualify for college scholarships. He assessed applicants' skills and directed them toward suitable opportunities, furthering educational access for those affected by tragedy.

Integral to his professional development, Mr. Pipersburgh's education culminated in a Master of Business Administration with a focus in public administration from Hodges University in 2024. He also holds credentials as a certified police instructor in instructional methods by the Division of Criminal Justice Services, State of New York. Furthermore, he completed a gang investigative course, a specialized protective security training course in dignitary protection, a criminal investigation course, and quality assurance training. These credentials have enabled Mr. Pipersburgh to serve effectively as an instructor, investigator and leader within various units.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Pipersburgh has become recognized as a lifetime member of the Detectives' Endowment Association. He is also affiliated with the NYPD Hispanic Society. Civic engagement has been a constant theme throughout Mr. Pipersburgh's life as well. In 1979, he joined the inaugural class of the Bishop's Leadership Project, a program of the Diocese of Brooklyn, New York, designed to cultivate young black leaders under the guidance of Bishop Francis J. Mugavero. As a retreat coordinator two years later, he honed skills in public speaking, seminar planning and teamwork that would later inform both his community activism and police work. Beyond these contributions, Mr. Pipersburgh remains devoted to faith-based service, which includes founding The Celestials Theater Group at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, in 1981, directing missionary activities, managing homeless shelter operations, teaching religious education, and serving as catechist minister, a role for which he received an Award of Merit from the Diocese of Brooklyn in 1985.

Mr. Pipersburgh's creative pursuits include writing and directing five biblical productions for The Celestials Theater Group during the 1980s and serving as a motivational speaker at high schools and churches across Brooklyn and Queens, New York, beginning in 1984.

In light of his exemplary service, Mr. Pipersburgh has been recognized through numerous awards, including recognition as a Gold-Braid Recipient for Police Academy Class October 1991, a Public Service Award from The Sonny Archer Law Enforcement Scholarship Foundation Inc. in 2016, a Community Service Award from NYPD Hispanic Society in 2018, a Certificate of Appreciation from Office of Inspector Chaplain NYPD in 2022, and an Outstanding Service Award from Police & Fire Line of Duty Widows of New York City Inc. in 2024. He also earned multiple Company Instructor Appreciation Awards from the NYPD Police Academy.

Mr. Pipersburgh attributes his success to strong communication skills, visionary thinking and an authentic love for people. He credits his wife's unwavering encouragement and his parent's inspiration as central pillars throughout his journey. Dedicated not only to professional excellence but also to empowering others through technology-driven solutions that enhance human resource capabilities within public service organizations, Mr. Pipersburgh is eager to join NYPD's management team in a civilian capacity with aspirations to expand recognition programs, such as the Integrity Review Board, broadening its scope beyond acts involving bribery to honor all instances where officers demonstrate integrity when unobserved.
