SICKLERVILLE, NJ, January 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Dr. Marilyn Dixon Hill has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill has dedicated her career to serving others through both ministry and nursing, demonstrating a profound commitment to improving lives and fostering community well-being. For the past five years, she has served as a ministerial associate and elder at Centerville Outreach Ministries Inc. in Camden, New Jersey, where her work centers on making a tangible difference in others' lives. Her efforts have been particularly impactful in Centerville, an area marked by significant need and hardship. Here, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill has focused on reaching individuals who are often new to faith or come from challenging backgrounds, guiding them in spiritual matters and helping them discover love and self-worth.
Before her current role, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill served for 25 years at Camden Bible Tabernacle, a small but well-organized church in Camden. During her tenure, she was entrusted with unique responsibilities, including leading Bible studies, preaching on scheduled days and mentoring young adult women. She also participated in correctional ministry, preaching at local jails and occasionally visiting nursing homes to minister to residents. Despite the structured nature of these activities, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill felt called to expand her outreach beyond the church walls to connect more deeply with those in need of salvation and support.
Before embarking on her ministerial journey, Dr. Dixon Hill spent over two decades in health care as a registered nurse. Her expertise in physical, psychiatric and spiritual nursing allowed her to bridge the gap between clinical care and holistic healing.
Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill's academic achievements have played a pivotal role in shaping her multifaceted career. Her foundation was established with an Associate of Science in nursing science, cum laude, from Camden County College in 1991, as well as registered nursing coursework at Helene Fuld College of Nursing that same year. Years later, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill completed a certificate of completion for a Bachelor of Arts in bible and biblical studies from Grace Bible Institute in 2009, followed by a Master of Arts in theology and a Doctor of Theology and advanced theological studies from International Christian University in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Beyond her work-related endeavors, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill's civic engagement has been extensive. As a community liaison for Camden Churches, CCOP-Camden Churches Organized for People, she has fostered collaboration among local congregations to address pressing social issues. Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill's volunteer work with Neighborhood Health Connections stands out as particularly impactful. Partnering with Virtual West Jersey Hospital and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, she trained 20 Neighborhood Health Advisors over a 20-week program focused on diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma education. This initiative empowered community members to support one another through neighbors helping neighbors, bridging gaps between institutional health care and real-world patient needs.
Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill's journey into ministry was shaped by personal adversity. After suffering a rare reaction to a flu vaccine that resulted in Guillain-Barré syndrome, she became partially paralyzed and reliant on a wheelchair. This experience forced her to relearn basic skills, such as walking and writing, but also deepened her sense of purpose. While undergoing rehabilitation, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill discovered new ways to minister, offering encouragement and support to fellow patients, and realized that her calling extended beyond traditional nursing roles.
Recognizing her expertise, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill was invited to speak at the White House, where she was featured on the official website for defending the Affordable Care Act. Looking ahead, she plans to return to college at Newburgh College to pursue a bachelor's degree in biblical counseling. This credential will formalize Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill's counseling expertise and further equip her to guide individuals through trauma toward hope and healing.
