In addition to establishing the Serendib Group of Companies, Mr. Amaratunge has built a distinguished career in the aerospace industry. From 2018 to 2020, he served as project management officer at Zodiac Aerospace in Huntington Beach, California, where he managed complex projects and contributed to organizational growth. Between 2016 and 2018, he was business program manager at Esterline Technologies Corporation in Buena Park, California, overseeing multimillion-dollar initiatives and ensuring successful project delivery.
From 2015 to 2016, Mr. Amaratunge held the position of director of new product development and new product introduction in aerospace engineering at Arrowhead Products. In this capacity, he led teams focused on innovation and process improvement within the aerospace sector. His earlier experience includes serving as program manager at Honeywell Aerospace from 2004 to 2015, where he managed significant engineering projects and was recognized for his contributions with various engineering awards and program management completion milestones.
Mr. Amaratunge began his aerospace career as program manager at Senior Aerospace SSP in Burbank, California, from 1998 to 2004. Throughout these roles, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing large-scale projects and driving organizational success.
In addition to his corporate achievements, Mr. Amaratunge is also an accomplished musician. He has been a lead vocalist for over a decade and is recognized as a music composer. He has composed five original songs and continues to pursue creative endeavors alongside his business interests.
Mr. Amaratunge's educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering with a focus on, aeronautical and astronautical engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1997.
