Dr. Titus has established herself as a leading expert in the research and development (R&D) of aqueous two phase systems, with a particular focus on the influence of small molecules on hydrogen-bond rearrangement in water. In her current role as the lead scientist in chemistry at Cleveland Diagnostics Inc., which she began in 2025, she is responsible for both laboratory and desk-based work. Dr. Titus's daily activities include developing new systems with lower viscosities, striving for consistencies closer to that of water. She also experiments with various blends of polymer, salt and water, analyzes data, and prepares presentations for multiple projects. These presentations are delivered in both small breakout group discussions and larger R&D meetings with C-level leadership.

Acquired by Cleveland Diagnostics Inc. in 2021, Dr. Titus initially served as a scientist in chemistry. During this period, she contributed significantly to the company's research initiatives, further refining her expertise in water-based systems and molecular interactions.

From 2022 to 2023, Dr. Titus served as a visiting researcher at Cleveland State University. This experience allowed her to expand her research portfolio and collaborate with academic peers on advanced scientific projects. Dr. Titus's foundational experience was built at Kent State University while pursuing her degrees, where she worked as an undergraduate research assistant from 2015 to 2017. She then served as a graduate research assistant until 2022, during which she conducted hands-on research in oil-water systems before focusing exclusively on water-based systems. Notably, Dr. Titus first discovered her passion for laboratory research while working in an obesity-focused lab, but later transitioned to a chemistry and biochemistry lab to align with her preference for non-animal model research.

Dr. Titus's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology in 2017 and a Doctor of Philosophy in cell biology in 2022 from Kent State University. The rigorous training she received during these programs provided the technical foundation necessary for her subsequent research accomplishments.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. Titus has been dedicated to civic engagement as a founding member of the young professionals CARE board at Cleveland Angels since 2024. In this role, she supports initiatives that foster community involvement among young professionals.
Dr. Titus's scholarly output is substantial. She is the author of over a dozen publications in numerous journals, including one notable first-author publication that has been frequently cited by peers, underscoring its significance within the field.

In recognition of her success, Dr. Titus received several awards during graduate school, most notably the Graduate Student Excellence in Research Award from Kent State University in 2022. This honor is presented to only one student per department for outstanding research contributions. Dr. Titus credits much of her success thus far to the support of family, friends and exceptional mentors who have guided her throughout her academic and professional journey.

Dr. Titus is committed to advancing within Cleveland Diagnostics Inc. and aspires to reach a director-level position.
