BAYONNE, NJ, January 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Justyna M. Flynn, EdD, LPC, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by a commitment to program development, community engagement and student success, Dr. Flynn has led an impactful career at the cross-section of education, psychology and mental health. Since 2024, she has served as an administrator at Hudson County Schools of Technology, where she oversees adult certification and education programs. In her leadership role, she visits high schools and career fairs to promote educational opportunities, collaborates with various departments to optimize services for residents of Hudson County and New Jersey, and manages a dedicated office staff responsible for community-centered programs such as cooking classes and exercise initiatives.

Dr. Flynn's expertise in communication and staff facilitation has been pivotal in increasing enrollment in these programs — one of her proudest achievements to date. Applying her research acumen to enhance curricula, she updates offerings as needed and fosters partnerships with the broader community by analyzing relevant data and understanding local community needs.

In Dr. Flynn's role of supervisor of instruction for the Hudson Technical Post-Secondary Program at Hudson County Schools of Technology, she continues to demonstrate her leadership abilities by guiding instructional practices and supporting faculty development.

From 2019 to 2024, Dr. Flynn contributed her skills as a school psychologist for the Bayonne Board of Education in Bayonne, New Jersey — the culmination of 15 years and several positions there. She provided psychological assessments, counseling services and intervention strategies to support student well-being and academic achievement. During this period, from 2018 to 2022, she was also an intensive in-community (IIC) therapist with EmpowerU, where she delivered therapeutic services to children and families facing mental health challenges or developmental disabilities.

Before achieving her promotion to school psychologist, Dr. Flynn was a school psychology intern at the Bayonne Board of Education after previously serving as a substitute teacher, summer camp counselor and assistant athletic trainer from 2009 to 2019. Her early experience included working as an Alzheimer's caregiver from 2017 to 2018, where she provided compassionate care, meals and medication for individuals affected by the disease.

Also serving in several formative roles during her time as a student at Loyola University Maryland, Dr. Flynn was a career counseling intern and counseling center staff member from 2016 to 2017, offering group mental health therapy, and guidance and resume advice to students navigating academic and career decisions. In 2016, she completed a counseling internship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital Counseling Center in Baltimore, Maryland, gaining clinical experience in mental health care while running group therapy sessions that centered around mindfulness.

Dr. Flynn also served as an athletic retreat coordinator and campus ministry intern at Loyola University Maryland from 2013 to 2015, organizing retreats that fostered personal growth among Division 1 college athletes. From 2013 to 2015, she contributed as a psychology research assistant at Loyola University Maryland, aiding psychology professors with studies that informed her later work in educational leadership.

Hailing from an equally accomplished student background, Dr. Flynn earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration from Saint Peter's University in 2024 — a milestone that stands among her most significant achievements. Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, she holds a Master of Arts in school psychology from Seton Hall University, which provided her with specialized knowledge for her roles as a school psychologist and supervisor of instruction. She also completed a Master of Science in counseling psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at Loyola University Maryland, where she developed her early interest in research and student support services.

In addition to being licensed as a professional counselor by the State of New Jersey, Dr. Flynn is certified as a principal, school psychologist, substitute teacher and supervisor of instruction by the New Jersey Department of Education — credentials that have enabled her progression into leadership roles within educational institutions.

Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Dr. Flynn attributes her success to her deep-rooted motivation for academic excellence and an enduring desire to learn more — qualities shaped by the influence of family members who serve as educators and legal professionals. Their example instilled in her a strong work ethic and collaborative spirit that have guided her throughout her life and career.

Also known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Dr. Flynn served as an honor council member at Loyola University Maryland from 2013 to 2015, executive committee member for Relay for Life initiatives at Loyola University Maryland for the American Cancer Society from 2012 to 2014. Her scholarly contributions include authoring "The Impact of COVID-19 In-Person School Closures on Student Learning in a Large Urban School District," an influential 2024 article that examines the critical challenges faced by educators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her personal life, Dr. Flynn enjoys spending time with her family, coaching high school cheerleading teams and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants. Looking toward the future, she aims to further develop academic programs while advancing her career within public school education or potentially at the collegiate level. She remains eager to share her knowledge with students who are interested in education or psychology, continuing a longstanding legacy of service inspired by those who came before her.
