As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Flynn's distinguished career in taxation and accounting reflects decades of expertise, leadership and service to both clients and the community. Since 2023, he has served as an enrolled agent with EA Agent Enterprises, where he leverages his extensive knowledge of federal and California tax law to provide expert guidance to individuals and businesses. In this capacity, Mr. Flynn has demonstrated a commitment to client advocacy, drawing on his advanced credentials and a deep understanding of evolving tax regulations. His proficiency in taxation is further evidenced by his ability to address complex corporate and partnership matters, ensuring that clients receive the most current and practical solutions.

Since 2021, Mr. Flynn has also held the role of tax expert and tax resolution specialist at The Lee Accountancy Group, Inc. In this position, he has been responsible for resolving intricate tax issues, representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies, and providing strategic advice tailored to each client's unique circumstances. His work in this area is marked by a dedication to alleviating client stress, an aspect of his profession that he finds particularly rewarding.

From 1982 to 2019, Mr. Flynn was executive office manager at H. Welton Flynn, Accountants and Auditors, the San Francisco-based firm established by his father. Over 32 years, he advanced from entry-level responsibilities to overseeing both the practice's financial and tax divisions. The firm played a vital role in the local community, offering services ranging from financial statement preparation to investment consultation and tax return preparation. Working closely with his father and longtime secretary Helen Harrison, Mr. Flynn developed a reputation for integrity, diligence and client-centered service. He continued managing the practice until 2018, ensuring its legacy endured even after his father's passing.

Throughout his career, Mr. Flynn has prioritized professional development. He is especially proud of earning the enrolled agent credential from the Internal Revenue Service in 2020, a milestone that ranks alongside his master's degree as one of his most significant achievements. Recognizing that tax law is ever-changing, he consistently exceeds continuing education requirements; most recently, he completed 92 hours of coursework within three years to remain at the forefront of industry developments.

Mr. Flynn's expertise in taxation, federal tax and California taxation is widely recognized among peers and clients alike. He is an active member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., reflecting both his professional standing and commitment to service.

His academic background laid a strong foundation for his career success. Mr. Flynn graduated as valedictorian from St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco in 1971, a distinction that foreshadowed future accomplishments. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from San Francisco State University in 1977 after completing initial undergraduate coursework at Brown University. Driven by a passion for research and science instilled by his parents—his mother was a nurse with a keen interest in physics and his father was an accomplished accountant—he initially pursued scientific research before transitioning into accounting.

In 2006, Mr. Flynn completed a Master of Business Administration in accounting and business management at Regis University, further enhancing his analytical skills and business acumen. His certifications include membership on the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council (2021), a preparer tax identification number (2020), and a centralized authorization file designation from the Internal Revenue Service.

Mr. Flynn credits much of his success to personal growth over time, particularly his patience with clients during high-pressure periods such as tax season. He recalls formative experiences early in his career that taught him the importance of empathy and relationship management, skills not always covered in academic settings but essential for long-term success.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Flynn has demonstrated longstanding civic engagement as chairman of the board of directors' finance committee for Westside Community Mental Health since 1998, where he also served as treasurer for three years. These roles underscore his dedication to supporting mental health initiatives within the community.

Born in San Francisco to parents who valued education and perseverance—his mother excelled academically despite limited opportunities for African Americans in Jacksonville, Florida—Mr. Flynn was raised Catholic and benefited from a nurturing environment that emphasized intellectual curiosity and ethical conduct.

In recent years, Mr. Flynn has found fulfillment supervising teams of practitioners, many younger than himself, providing mentorship reminiscent of the support he received early in his own career. He continues to find joy in guiding others professionally while aspiring to travel more with his spouse as part of their personal pursuits.

Mr. Flynn's journey reflects not only technical mastery but also a lifelong commitment to learning, service and uplifting those around him, a legacy shaped by family values and sustained through decades of professional excellence.
