Mr. Crawford's extensive tenure with the Los Angeles Fire Department spans more than three decades and is marked by progressive leadership roles. From 2023 to 2024, he served as battalion chief in the Fire Prevention Bureau, overseeing fire safety initiatives and regulatory compliance. From 2015 to 2024, he also served as public information officer for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, managing communications during critical incidents and acting as a primary spokesperson to the public and media.
Mr. Crawford held the position of battalion chief for Battalion 14 in North Hollywood for one year, where he directed emergency operations and supervised personnel during high-stakes incidents. His leadership continued in his role as fire captain II in the planning section from 2017 to 2023, where he contributed to operational strategy development and training initiatives. Simultaneously, he served as fire captain II in Miracle Mile, leading emergency response teams and community outreach efforts.
As chief executive officer and president of Command Vision from 2016 to 2022, Mr. Crawford guided organizational growth while delivering consulting services focused on leadership development and crisis readiness. Earlier in his career, he served as a fire captain I from 2014 to 2017 and as a firefighter specialist from 1990 to 2014 with the Los Angeles Fire Department. His professional journey began as a fire cadet from 1986 to 1990 and included service with the United States Forest Service in wildland firefighting from 1988 to 1990.
Throughout his career, Mr. Crawford has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development and industry engagement. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including Toastmasters International, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, the National Association of Fire Investigators, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the California Conference of Arson Investigators, the California State Firefighters Association and the International Association of Firefighters. His academic background includes earning a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Penn State University in 2022 and an associate degree in fire services administration from Santa Ana College, awarded in 2005.

Since 2024, he has served on the board of directors at Haynes and Boone LLP in Dallas, Texas, contributing strategic insight at the organizational level.
