NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL, January 26, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bev Johnson, MHA, MS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Johnson has built a distinguished presence in health care and nonprofit leadership, marked by progressive responsibility and significant impact. Since 2025, she has served as the president and chief executive officer of Easterseals Florida, Inc., where she oversees the global operations of the organization. In this capacity, she manages approximately 550 employees, collaborates closely with the state board of directors and is responsible for all aspects of operations, finances, fundraising, advocacy and community partnerships. Ms. Johnson's leadership is characterized by a commitment to fostering relationships within the community and advancing the mission of Easterseals Florida, Inc.

Since 2017, Ms. Johnson has concurrently served as the president and chief executive officer at Easterseals Northeast Central Florida, Inc. Under her guidance, the organization achieved a noteworthy milestone when it was selected as one of the first recipients of MacKenzie Scott's initial round of anonymous donations to select nonprofits, receiving a $3 million unrestricted gift. This recognition reflected the organization's progress, strong reputation and unwavering dedication to its mission.

From 2009 to 2017, Ms. Johnson excelled as the executive vice president at Volusia Flagler Family YMCA. In this role, she contributed to the strategic direction and operational management of the organization, further honing her expertise in advocacy and partnership development. Her earlier experience includes serving as the vice president and executive director at DeVos-Blum Family YMCA of Boynton Beach within the YMCA of South Palm Beach County from 2001 to 2009, where Ms. Johnson led program development and community engagement initiatives that strengthened organizational impact.

Ms. Johnson also proudly mentored students as a member of the adjunct faculty at Palm Beach Atlantic University between 2001 and 2003, sharing her knowledge with those studying health related fields. Prior to 2001, Ms. Johnson served as the director of outpatient rehabilitation services at Aventura Hospital, gaining valuable experience in clinical operations within a hospital setting.

Throughout her career, Ms. Johnson has demonstrated a signature skill in advocacy and creating partnerships. She credits her early exposure to both for-profit and nonprofit health care environments for shaping her understanding of diverse operational models, noting that lessons gleaned from corporate systems provided insights not always visible in nonprofit settings. A pivotal career moment came through her completion of human-centered design training originally developed by IDEO in Northern California, and this certification emphasized engaging directly with communities rather than making assumptions about their needs—a principle encapsulated by "nothing about them, without them." The training fundamentally changed Ms. Johnson's approach to public health work by prioritizing authentic community input.

Naturally driven to academic excellence, Ms. Johnson completed a Bachelor of Science in health science education from the University of Florida in 1991. Subsequently, she pursued graduate study and now holds a Master of Science in exercise physiology from San Diego State University, which she earned in 1994. Additionally, Ms. Johnson finished a Master of Science in health care administration and management from the University of Florida in 2000, equipping her with advanced knowledge in organizational leadership and health systems management.

Ms. Johnson's enduring commitment to civic engagement is evident through active involvement with several organizations, including the Rotary Club of Greater Daytona Beach and the Civic League of the Halifax Area. She also serves as a board member for Flagler Cares and the Early Learning Coalition, contributing her expertise to advance community well-being. Notably, Ms. Johnson's many meaningful contributions have been recognized with prestigious accolades that include the Program Innovation Award from Easterseals National Office in 2024 and the Women in Business Nonprofit Leader of the Year in 2019.

To maintain a work-life balance, Ms. Johnson enjoys running, playing tennis, boating, fishing and paddle boarding, and she is the proud mother of two daughters. Looking toward the future, she aims to expand the strongest programs at her affiliate—including autism services and employment services for individuals with disabilities—to ensure accessible programming throughout Florida. Following the merger of two complementary Easterseals organizations, Ms. Johnson remains dedicated to building on their most needed services without redundancy, while addressing mental health by reducing barriers to provide constituents with timely care.
