BRANFORD, CT, January 29, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Caius Jordan Mergy has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Mergy has distinguished himself as the owner and head brewer of Caius Farm Brewery, a role he has held since 2021. Under his leadership, the brewery officially opened its doors to the public in 2023 in Branford, Connecticut. Mr. Mergy's responsibilities encompass every aspect of the brewing process, from hands-on experimentation with ingredients and techniques to refining beer styles and expanding his knowledge base. He is recognized for pushing creative boundaries through brewing trials and process innovation, ensuring that each batch reflects both quality and originality.

In his daily operations, Mr. Mergy manages administrative tasks such as inventory control, ordering supplies and maintaining communication to ensure seamless production. He organizes brewery operations proactively to minimize disruptions and address challenges efficiently. His expertise extends to overseeing all stages of beer production, including transfers and packaging, and conducting sensory tastings across barrels and tanks to assess quality and consistency. Laboratory work is also a critical component of his role, in which he performs yeast cell counts, contamination testing, alcohol analysis, and carbonation testing. Maintaining rigorous cleaning and sanitation standards is central to upholding the brewery's reputation for excellence.

Mr. Mergy's commitment to his craft has earned him recognition as an expert in German lager brewing and barrel-aged beer. His innovative approach was notably recognized in 2025 when he received the World Beer Cup Award for his Elagabalus Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. This career highlight underscored the artistry involved in blending and aging beers. He has also been awarded gold, silver and bronze medals at the Great International Beer Competition, as well as two silver medals at the Denver International Beer Competition.

Prior to establishing Caius Farm Brewery, Mr. Mergy gained valuable industry experience in California before returning to Connecticut in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. His vision for Caius Farm Brewery was shaped by a desire to connect with the land; he selected a historic farm site that had been unused for over two decades, transforming it into a destination that honors both agricultural heritage and modern brewing innovation. Mr. Mergy's classical studies deeply influence the brewery's identity. Its logo draws inspiration from a mosaic admired during his time in the United Kingdom and features ancient artifacts on display alongside contemporary craft beers.

A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mr. Mergy is dedicated to advancing the field of craft brewing through continuous learning and community engagement. He is particularly passionate about mixed fermentation beers that showcase local ingredients, such as an ancient Etruscan-style beer crafted entirely from Connecticut-grown produce. Many of his beers are named after lesser-known figures from ancient history, with artwork designed by his sister that offers whimsical interpretations of these individuals.

Mr. Mergy's academic background has played a pivotal role in shaping his professional journey. He graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in classics, focusing on Greek and Latin language. During his undergraduate years, he discovered a passion for craft beer that led him to homebrewing and extensive study of brewing literature. He continued his education at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, earning a master's degree in classical archaeology in 2018 while further exploring European brewing traditions.

In pursuit of technical mastery, Mr. Mergy completed the Master Brewer Program at the World Brewing Academy—a collaboration between Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago and Doemens Academy in Munich—in 2018. Graduating at the top of his class, he became the youngest person ever to complete this prestigious program. He has also been a certified beer server since 2018.

Mr. Mergy attributes much of his success to the unwavering support of family and friends, whose encouragement and collaborative spirit have been instrumental throughout his career. Their involvement has enabled him to dedicate countless hours to perfecting his craft at Caius Farm Brewery.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Mergy has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement. In high school, he volunteered as an English teacher at a children's school in Sri Lanka for one week. He spent six weeks in South Africa assisting with animal care initiatives such as rhino de-horning, forest fire containment and habitat restoration.

Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, Mr. Mergy enjoys cooking—particularly making pizza and fresh pasta—as well as lacto-fermentation projects, such as crafting hot sauces and pickled vegetables. Road biking is another personal interest that complements his active lifestyle.

Looking ahead, Mr. Mergy remains dedicated to experimenting with new ingredients and techniques while emphasizing locally sourced products in his brewing endeavors. His ongoing objective is to push creative boundaries within craft beer while highlighting exceptional local flavors that might otherwise go unrecognized.

Mr. Mergy's family plays an integral role in both his personal life and business operations; his wife is a sonographer specializing in echocardiograms at Westerly Hospital with a decade of experience following her undergraduate education in the field. The couple welcomed their daughter in September 2025. His sister serves as general manager at Caius Farm Brewery and is responsible for creating its distinctive artwork; she holds a degree in studio art from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Through dedication to quality, creativity and community engagement, Mr. Mergy continues to make significant contributions to contemporary craft brewing while honoring classical traditions and local heritage.
