From 1999 until 2003, Dr. Laskey served as the director of the Master of Business Administration program in pharmaceutical and chemical studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Silberman College of Business. His most significant achievement during this period was securing accreditation for the program from the Allied Schools of Business — a critical milestone for business schools nationwide. Demonstrating a forward-thinking approach, he pioneered distance learning by traveling weekly to major pharmaceutical companies, and he established studios within corporate offices along the Delaware River Valley to deliver Master of Business Administration courses directly to employees, positioning the program as an industry leader in remote education.

Before entering academia, Dr. Laskey worked at Hunt-Wesson Foods, overseeing production operations, following his time at J.P. Stevens & Co., where he managed textile manufacturing plants that produced substrate materials for circuit boards and camouflage netting for military applications. In this capacity, he applied effective cost-reduction strategies and managed unbudgeted expenditures with precision.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Laskey joined Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company as a senior engineer, a position in which he oversaw five can manufacturing plants and implemented cost-saving measures that reduced annual budgets by approximately $3 million per facility. He began his professional journey as a licensed insurance agent, working alongside his father.

Laying the foundation for Dr. Laskey's accomplishments was his academic background, which began with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Clemson University in 1979. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in operations research from the same institution in 1983, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in marketing from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 1988, where his dissertation focused on the effectiveness of television advertising.

His most notable publication is "The Global Pharmaceutical Industry: Economic Structure, Government Regulation, and History," released by Xlibris US in 2019 — a comprehensive examination of the evolution of the global pharmaceutical sector following World War II when German patents were converted into public property by allied forces.
