Prior to this role, he was a professor in the university's department of internal medicine, where he was recognized for his unwavering excellence in teaching and mentorship. His earlier academic appointments include professorships at the Cleveland Clinic for eight years and the University of Pennsylvania for two years. He has been celebrated for his personalized approach to education, receiving numerous accolades such as the Faculty Teacher of the Year award at Rush University Medical Center and the Distinguished Teaching award at Cleveland Clinic.
