PURCELLVILLE, VA, February 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margaret Boone Rappaport, PhD, co-founder of The Human Sentience Project LLC, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the December 2025/January 2026 national issue of Fortune magazine.
Dr. Rappaport is a respected researcher, scientist, author and pioneer of ecotheology, a theological discipline that examines the relationship between nature and religion and how global religious practices influence environmental conservation efforts. With plans to co-publish the book "Off-World Ecotheology; Roles for Religion in Space Settlement" soon, Dr. Rappaport has performed an analysis of space virtues dedicated to enhancing the stability of lunar and Martian settlements through committed terrestrial leaders and organizations. She also leveraged theological discourse to advocate for environmental protection and facilitate human settlements in the solar system in four papers she published in the Journal, Theology and Science. By drawing on references from the Old Testament of the Bible, Dr. Rappaport aims to promote society's understanding and acceptance of nuclear power to support colonies in outer space, in ongoing publications and activities.
Since 2014, Dr. Rappaport has served as the co-founder of The Human Sentience Project LLC, where she applies her knowledge of space science, artificial intelligence (AI) and human cognitive evolution to conduct comprehensive research and encourage an in-depth understanding of such topics worldwide. Earlier, she co-authored the books "Space Science and Astronomy Theatre" and "The Emergence of Religion in Human Evolution" in 2017 and 2021, respectively. With a diverse background in cultural anthropology and biology, Dr. Rappaport collaborates with other researchers and scholars to unveil the intersection of technology, ecology and spirituality.
Previously, Dr. Rappaport served as a contractual consultant in Washington, DC, from 1975 to 2005, specializing in minority health. During this period, she was recognized for a highly cited article, "Social and Cultural Factors in the Etiology of Low Birthweight among Disadvantaged Blacks," in 1985. On the heels of this accomplishment, Dr. Rappaport subsequently authored the book "Capital Crime: Black Infant Mortality in America" in 1989. Concurrently, she was the president of Policy Research Methods Inc. from 1986 to 2006 and worked as a professor of anthropology and sociology at such institutions as Georgetown University, The George Washington University and Prince George's Community College.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Rappaport completed an extensive education consisting of a Bachelor of Arts in biology from The George Washington University and a Master of Education in Social Foundations of Education from the University of Florida. Following these degrees, she attended The Ohio State University, where she received a Master of Arts in anthropology and a Doctor of Philosophy in cultural anthropology.
Dr. Rappaport was honored with a Praxis Award from the Washington Association of Professional Anthropologists, testifying to her longstanding impact on anthropological and sociological initiatives. Looking toward the future, she hopes to continue disseminating her wealth of knowledge to fellow scholars, researchers and laypeople, bridging the gap between the social sciences, spirituality, technological advancement, and now, artificial intelligence.
