In 2023, Mr. Andrews served as a solar energy site identification and development assistant at Hecate Energy in Klamath Falls. This role built upon his extensive experience in public relations and consulting, which included founding the Academy for Ecological Transition in Chile from 2020 to 2022. At the Academy, he also worked as a curriculum developer from 2020 to 2021, shaping programs to advance ecological literacy, solar energy techniques, and sustainability practices.
From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Andrews served as an executive coach at Easytalk Taiwan, where he mentored professionals in effective corporate communication skills. Prior to that, he spent six years as a publishing and multimedia producer for Radiant Communications, managing a wide range of media projects. Mr. Andrews' international teaching experience includes a position from 2012 to 2013 at Universidad Latinoamericana de la Ciencia y la Tecnología in Escazú, Costa Rica, one of Latin America's leading technical universities, where he taught English.
Between 2007 and 2012, Mr. Andrews worked as a product development consultant at EnPiCo Consulting, advising clients on product launches and patent processes. His international portfolio expanded with a role at Azzuro Solar, a startup in New Zealand from 2004 to 2006, where he served as a training and communications consultant. In 2004 and 2005, Mr. Andrews co-produced a nature video in New Zealand, covering the gannet colony there.
Throughout his career, Mr. Andrews has been recognized for several significant achievements. He is particularly proud of being one of the founders of the Green Building Movement, a global organization that recognizes buildings for exceptional energy efficiency. Additionally, he holds a patent on the Solar Concentrating Integrated Multi-Purpose Energy Supply System. Mr. Andrews' contributions have been further acknowledged through various awards, including Best Brand Ambassador by Genesis Today in 2007, Best arrangement and best composition at the Northern California Stage Band Festival, and a full scholarship from the California State SAT Commission in 1986.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Andrews worked as a parts sales and warranty support technician at Roberts Trane HVAC in Bellevue from 2000 to 2002. From 1992 to 1994, he served as a management assistant at Boeing in Redmond, where he contributed to the design of a laboratory for testing airplane components — a project that reflected his early aptitude for systems theory and coordinated engineering processes.
Mr. Andrews' academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in humanities from New College of California, which he earned in 1990. He later enhanced his expertise with a certificate in technology management and a certificate in scientific illustration from the University of Washington in 1995. Mr. Andrews' ongoing commitment to professional development within his field is further reflected in his active membership in the International Association of Writers and Editors since 2000.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Andrews has consistently demonstrated civic engagement and leadership. He has served as chapter secretary for the Silicon Valley Chapter of the United Nations Foundation, active member of the Berkeley Ecology Center, and as both secretary and buildings coordinator for the Climate Change Council Northwest.
