BURR RIDGE, IL, February 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter J. Stavroplos has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Specializing in both criminal and corporate investigations, Mr. Stavroplos is recognized as a highly experienced digital forensics professional and expert witness. Over the course of nearly two decades, he has established a glowing reputation for his technical expertise, empathetic leadership and commitment to service in both the public and private sectors.
Since 2022, Mr. Stavroplos has served as a Senior Associate at Charles River Associates in Chicago, Illinois, where he assists law firms and companies with complex investigations. In this capacity, he manages staff teams ranging from five to 15 employees and provides training and guidance to his team members. Ensuring investigative integrity throughout every step of the process, he oversees digital forensic analyses and provides full support to his clients through challenging legal matters. Additionally, since 2021, he has held the role of Senior Associate, further contributing to the firm's financial advisory services and investigative practice.
Prior to joining Charles River Associates, Mr. Stavroplos worked in financial advisory services with a focus on digital forensics and investigations at Deloitte in the Greater Chicago Area from 2019 to 2021. During his tenure, he played a key role in supporting corporate clients through internal investigations, trade secret matters and litigation support. His work required a high degree of technical proficiency as well as the ability to communicate his team's complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
Mr. Stavroplos' professional foundation was built during his distinguished military career of more than a decade in the United States Army. For most of his career he served as a digital forensics examiner and special agent, conducting sensitive criminal investigations that involved digital evidence.
From 2012 to 2019, Mr. Stavroplos also held the position of special agent at his duty stations including, Yongsan, South Korea, Fort Drum, NY and Fort Hood, Texas, where he was responsible for investigating a range of offenses and supporting victims during their most vulnerable moments. He began his military service in 2009 as a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) specialist, providing him with early exposure to disciplined teamwork and mission-focused operations. In recognition of his outstanding service to the Army and his country, he was presented with several military awards including the, Army Commendation Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (2nd Award), Army Volunteer Service Ribbon.
Throughout his career, Mr. Stavroplos has been lauded for his ability to transform personal adversity into positive growth. He considers his most notable achievement to be overcoming difficult experiences — whether military service or personal hardships — and using those challenges to develop empathy and resilience. Colleagues frequently describe him as one of the most empathetic managers they have encountered, a quality shaped by years of listening to victims' stories and working with children who have been victims of abuse. These experiences have enabled him to maintain perspective under pressure and connect authentically with individuals from all walks of life.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Stavroplos earned a Master of Science in executive leadership from Champlain College in 2019, equipping him with advanced skills in organizational management and team development. Two years earlier, he completed a Master of Science in digital forensic science at the same institution, which provided a strong technical foundation for his work in both military and corporate settings. He also holds a bachelor's degree in general studies with concentrations in aviation flight management and law enforcement from Lewis University, graduating in 2009.
Dedicated to the ideals of continuous professional growth in the ever-evolving technological realm, Mr. Stavroplos has earned numerous certifications over the years. He was certified in advanced smartphone forensics by Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in 2022. Mr. Stavroplos is recongonized as an expert witness concerning digital forensics in Military Courts and Federal Court. Earlier in his career, he was certified as a logical operator and physical analyst by Cellebrite and in both digital forensic examination and media collection by the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Stavroplos attributes much of his success to the guidance of his grandfather, whose roots are from Mexico, joined the United States Army at age 17 and served until he was 65. His grandfather's belief that education, knowledge and life experience are enduring assets profoundly influenced Mr. Stavroplos' own values and approach to life and work.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Stavroplos is a board member for Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, contributing strategic oversight and advocacy for the welfare of those who have served. His dedication extends to supporting his fellow veterans through mental health advocacy; after completing his military service — particularly following years spent investigating child exploitation cases — he openly discussed his own mental health struggles to help break the stigma among veterans.
In 2020, Mr. Stavroplos navigated complex Veterans Affairs processes with the support of his doctor to secure approval for ketamine therapy at a Chicago-based clinic — a treatment then available at only a few locations in the United States. His efforts paved the way for other veterans to access this therapy, with many clinics since reporting increased numbers of Veterans Affairs patients who benefit from it.
During the time he spent living in South Korea, Mr. Stavroplos also became involved with Busan Abandoned Pet Sanctuary — a dog rescue organization operated by an American expatriate and his Korean wife. He donated thousands of dollars for food and veterinary care, regularly drove eight hours between Seoul and Busan to assist with rescues and personally transported dogs when their adopters lacked transportation. Recognizing that Korean shelters give stray dogs only 10 days before performing euthanasia, he often undertook 16-hour round-trip drives to save animals' lives and used his own airline tickets to bring approximately 25 rescued dogs to the United States.
As a balance to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Stavroplos enjoys playing golf and continues his participation with dog rescue organizations. Looking toward the future, he remains dedicated to preparing the next generation for success — whether guiding veterans transitioning out of military service or mentoring members of his consulting staff — and ensuring they are equipped with all the tools, guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.
