During this period, she managed key partnerships and contributed to the company's mission of providing advanced training and decision-making solutions for law enforcement and military personnel.
From 2015 to 2016, Ms. Persinger was the director of the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, she played a pivotal part in shifting public perceptions regarding animal welfare. Through consistent dedication and outreach, she helped to change attitudes on challenging issues while furthering the shelter's mission of caring for dogs until they find their forever home.
Ms. Persinger's career in law enforcement is distinguished by her longstanding service with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, where she retired at the rank of commander. Her career expanded from 1983 to 2016, over more than three decades, she earned multiple awards for her exemplary performance — including Deputy of the Year, Investigator of the Year, the Meritorious Service Award and Detention Officer of the Year — before retiring safely from law enforcement. Her leadership extended beyond traditional policing as well; from 2010 to 2015, she also served as the director of Pinal County Animal Care and Control, where she integrated her expertise in public safety with animal welfare initiatives.
In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Persinger ran as a political candidate for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office in 2016, further demonstrating her commitment to public service and community engagement. While working as a police officer, she also served as a therapeutic foster parent; during this time, she provided care for children between the ages of 13 and 17 who were in the juvenile justice system and faced significant challenges — a testament to her compassion and dedication to making a positive impact on young lives.
Throughout her career, Ms. Persinger has shared valuable insights and expanded her network as an active member of industry organizations, including serving as a past member of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, served on the Arizona State Child Fatality Review Team (Appointed by Governor Janet Napolitano) The National Animal Control Association and The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement. She has also contributed to civic-minded organizations such as The 100 Club, Shop with a Cop and Friends of the Shelter, a nonprofit entity that provides care for sick and injured dogs throughout Franklin County Ohio.
Hailing from a foundational and accomplished academic background, Ms. Persinger earned a Master of Public Administration from Grand Canyon University in 2015 as well as a bachelor's degree in criminal justice at the University of Phoenix in 2012. To augment her knowledge and leadership abilities, she is a certified public manager by the Arizona State University, and was certified as a general instructor by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.
Reflecting on her storied public service journey to date, Ms. Persinger attributes much of her success to the thorough supervisors who challenged her to continually improve throughout her career.
