Prior to her formal appointment as executive director, Ms. Williams was named Interim Executive Director at the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes from November 2024 to March 2025. During this transitional period, she provided stability and continuity for both staff and clients while ensuring that critical services remained accessible to those in need.
From 2019 to 2024, Ms. Williams held the role of Director of Advocacy at the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes. In this position, she lead a team responsible for delivering direct support to survivors. Her collaborative spirit fostered camaraderie among colleagues and strengthened partnerships with community organizations. She played a pivotal role in identifying service gaps and implementing innovative solutions to address emerging needs within the agency.
Ms. Williams' earlier experience includes serving as Coordinator of Victim/Witness Services for the Wayne County District Attorney's Office from 2015 to 2019. In this capacity, she developed a passion for the criminal justice system while assisting victims of crime in navigating complex legal processes. She provided emotional support and resources to families affected by traumatic events, including several crimes and homicides related to domestic violence. The relationships she built with victims and surviving relatives stand as a testament to her dedication and compassion.
Her professional journey began with roles focused on youth development and family support. From 2006 to 2015, Ms. Williams worked as a Youth Services Assistant for Wayne County, managing park programs that included lifeguards and recreational activities. She served as a liaison between the Office of Children and Family Services and Wayne County municipal recreation programs. In addition, Ms. Williams worked closely with runaway youth and their families to balance enrichment activities with developmental support.
Ms. Williams launched her career as an Early Head Start teacher with the Wayne County Action Program from 2004 to 2006. In this foundational role, she worked directly with young children and their families, laying the groundwork for her lifelong commitment to youth services, advocacy and empowerment.
Throughout her career, Ms. Williams has demonstrated exceptional expertise in the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault, victimization, trauma-informed care and strength-based approaches to service delivery. Her ability to address issues related to human trafficking, particularly recognizing the risks associated with power and control dynamics, has set her apart as a leader in her field.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Ms. Williams has contributed through civic engagement. Since 2020, she has served on the Board of Education for Sodus Central School District, helping shape educational policy in her community. She was Treasurer for Sodus Cooperative Nursery School from 2015 to 2017 and a member of the Village of Sodus Planning Board from 2013 to 2016.
Ms. Williams' academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, New York, in 2004. Her studies provided a strong foundation for understanding human behavior and informed her approach to supporting individuals facing adversity.
Inspired by influential mentors throughout her upbringing—including supportive parents who instilled in her the value of doing things right—Ms. Williams has consistently sought opportunities to treat others with respect and empower them through meaningful relationships and a sense of ownership. Her achievements have been recognized by peers and community organizations alike; notably, she received the Friend of CCE Award from Cornell Cooperative Extension for her outstanding contributions.
Outside of her professional commitments, Ms. Williams enjoys spending time with her twin daughters and son, sharing experiences such as attending school sports events, playing board games, cooking together or visiting the beach at Sprong's Bluff, a former family farm in Sodus, New York. She finds fulfillment in history and storytelling, interests that have shaped both her personal life and professional outlook.
