As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Rev. Ryan Stratton is an ordained elder in the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and has established a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years in teaching, leadership development and Christian ministry. His work is marked by steadfast leadership, a commitment to service and a passion for helping individuals orient their lives beyond self-interest toward faith, purpose and service to God and community.
Since 2025, Rev. Stratton has served as the senior pastor at Pollard United Methodist Church, where he oversees staff, guides the development of the church's vision and identifies strategies to accomplish essential tasks. His tenure has been characterized by a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to leadership, most notably guiding successful resolutions to major building repairs once considered insurmountable, including the replacement of all church building roofs. Rev. Stratton is deeply committed to reading, research and active listening, ensuring that the needs of his congregation inform both vision and ministry practice.
In addition to his current role, Rev. Stratton has served as associate pastor at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church since 2023. His dual appointments reflect both his deep commitment to ministry and his ability to balance multiple leadership roles within the church community.
From 2021 to 2022, Rev. Stratton served as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Daingerfield, providing spiritual guidance and pastoral care during a season of transition. In 2021, he also served as pastor of Bradfield Chapel United Methodist Church and Lone Star United Methodist Church, further expanding his experience in leading congregations through periods of growth and change.
Between 2018 and 2021, Rev. Stratton led Red Lick First United Methodist Church, where he focused on fostering community engagement, discipleship and spiritual development among parishioners. Prior to this, he served as pastor of A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church and Cold Springs United Methodist Church from 2016 to 2017, continuing his mission of equipping individuals with practical and spiritual tools for growth.
Rev. Stratton's earlier pastoral assignments include serving Shelbyville and Short United Methodist Churches from 2015 to 2016. Before transitioning into full-time pastoral leadership, Rev. Stratton served in youth ministry as youth director at Buda United Methodist Church from 2011 to 2015 and as youth leader at First United Methodist Church in Luling from 2010 to 2011, where he mentored young people and encouraged meaningful faith formation.
Prior to his vocational ministry, Rev. Stratton's professional journey began as the owner and manager of Taekwondo Plus from 1999 to 2010. He trained, practiced and taught Taekwondo for more than 15 years, an experience that profoundly shaped his commitment to discipline, mentorship and holistic personal development. The focus and perseverance cultivated through martial arts continue to influence his leadership and ministry philosophy.
Throughout his career, Rev. Stratton has remained actively engaged in service beyond the church walls. His civic contributions include long-standing involvement with Rotary International, as well as community missions and outreach initiatives.
Rev. Stratton's educational background includes a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Together, these degrees have equipped him with both theological depth and practical leadership skills essential for effective ministry.
As an author, Rev. Stratton has contributed numerous works focused on faith, discipleship and spiritual formation. His published titles include "Rediscover the Meaning of Lent," released in 2025. Earlier works include "Crossroads: Seeking God to Discern Next Steps: A Forty Day Devotional," published in 2023, along with "Prayers for You!: Praying for Those We Love" in 2022. More will be released in 2026 and 2027. He also continues to write on his blog website www.revryanstratton.com.
Among his most meaningful achievements, Rev. Stratton highlights the privilege of baptizing children and adults that have contributed to spiritual growth and renewal within his congregations. He continues to address practical challenges, such as facility improvements, while expanding ministry outreach through Bible studies, mentorship and resources that help individuals and pastors ask meaningful questions about their faith and discern next steps with God.
In his personal life, Rev. Stratton is part of a clergy couple alongside his wife, who is also an ordained pastor serving another congregation. Looking ahead, he remains focused on pastoring local churches with the goal of leaving each congregation stronger than when he arrived. Rev. Stratton is especially committed to mentoring younger pastors and those discerning a call to ministry, while continuing to nurture his family's life of faith and service together.
