UPPER MARLBORO, MD, February 19, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Angelita Diamond Pollard has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Pollard has established a dynamic and multifaceted career defined by her ability to blend analytical rigor with creative vision. In her current capacity as program manager at her alma mater, the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) Alumni Association, she plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of high-profile events as well as pioneering organizational efforts for the internal staff. Among her most significant achievements was leading the grand reopening event at the Samuel Riggs Alumni Center, where she managed a $240,000 budget as primary event planner. She oversaw both the creative vision and logistical execution of the event, transforming it into an immersive showcase of the venue's capabilities.
Some of her daily responsibilities include preparing and sending RSVP reports to the senior executive director, participating in team meetings and brainstorming sessions, reviewing event statistics, ensuring timely and accurate credit card reconciliations and collaborating on marketing plans, event logistics and staffing needs. She also works closely with the events team to execute panels and other programs, managing multiple projects simultaneously through detailed project management spreadsheets that facilitate clear communication and organization across teams.
Ms. Pollard didn't just stumble into event planning. At the age of 14, she stepped out on faith and decided to start a dance company. Since 2012, Ms. Pollard has maintained the title of Artistic Director and Founder of Xtra Productions Dance Company. The company operates similarly to a nonprofit organization, providing an inclusive environment for individuals to express themselves through dance without prohibitive costs or rigid time commitments. Her leadership has ensured that the company remains accessible while fostering creativity and community engagement. She expanded these initiatives in the school system by becoming a dance team coach at College Park Academy from 2017 to 2018 and the dance team coach at Bishop McNamara High School from 2018-2022.
Although Ms. Pollard thoroughly enjoys abstract creativity and performing arts, she also has an extreme passion for numbers. Earlier in her career, Ms. Pollard served as audit specialist for conferences and visitor services in College Park from 2016 to 2018, worked as talent manager at RedPeg Marketing from 2019-2023 and a payroll specialist at Pixis Drones from 2021 to 2023. Throughout her career, she has maintained membership in Mu Alpha Theta at Bishop McNamara High School since 2014.
Educationally, Ms. Pollard's background includes a bachelor's degree in business and management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 2019 after graduating summa cum laude from Bishop McNamara High School in 2015. The rigorous academic training she received provided a strong foundation for her analytical approach to problem-solving and organizational management.
Reflecting on her career, Ms. Pollard attributes much of her success to a robust support system led by her mother, whom she describes as her best friend and greatest encourager. The unwavering support of her family and faith has empowered her to pursue ambitious goals with confidence.
Beyond her professional roles, Ms. Pollard is deeply engaged in civic initiatives and community outreach. She served as fundraising and accounts specialist for Chance for Life, DC's Social Super Bowl, from 2020 to 2023 and founded Xtend N See Community Outreach Program. Her volunteer work includes service with Loaves and Fishes Ministry Inc., Share Warehouse, Gilmore Adult Daycare Center, Forestville Rehabilitation Center and B.E.E. Academy.
In recognition of her contributions, Ms. Pollard has recieved several awards, including the Fine Art Department Senior Award from Bishop McNamara High School in 2015, multiple summa cum laude honors throughout high school, the Superstar Award from the Alumni Association and a nomination for Rookie of the Year. Her creative pursuits extend into filmmaking, where she produced a dance-centered women's empowerment project as her first film. When copyright restrictions limited its festival eligibility, she responded by producing her own film festival in November—an event now entering its second year under her direction. She also enjoys hosting events for friends and family, cooking and spending time with loved ones in her free time.
In the upcoming years, Ms. Pollard plans to continue to channel her passion for the arts into meaningful community impact. She aspires to establish a creative space where children under eighteen can develop their talents across dance, music, choreography and costume design while learning essential life skills, such as leadership, teamwork and organization—helping them build confidence early on for future success.
