As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Hicken-Lloyd serves as the owner of Simple Truths Counseling LLC and Wellness Centers PLLC, a private practice she established in 2023 and opened in 2025. Specializing in marriage and family therapy with a focus on intimacy issues, grief support, and faith based transitions, she has distinguished herself as an expert in her field. Her approach is deeply informed by her own life experiences, including her role as a mother to four children.

This personal history enables her to offer profound empathy and insight into the challenges faced by couples and families, particularly those navigating the intersection of faith, identity, and acceptance within LGBTQIA+ and religious communities.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the parent of a child in the LGBTQIA+ community, Ms. Hicken-Lloyd is uniquely positioned to support clients seeking unconditional love, understanding, and healthy communication in conservative environments.

She launched Crooked Crowns Ministry supporting those marginalized within the global community. Jodi is preparing to launch a "Christian Acceptance Boot Camp" to foster compassion and inclusivity within faith-based communities.

Prior to opening her private practice, Ms. Hicken-Lloyd worked as a hospice social worker at Anchor of Hope Hospice from 2022 to 2023 and a hospice in East Texas from 2023-2025. In this capacity, she provided compassionate support to patients and their families as they coped with end-of-life issues. Her earlier experience as an intern at the Center for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care in 2019 expanded her understanding of grief in non-traditional contexts, while her internship at Medical Center Behavioral Health – McKinney from 2018 to 2019 provided foundational clinical training.

Ms. Hicken-Lloyd's professional journey also includes entrepreneurial ventures such as GoGo Gardening, which she owned from 2020 to 2022, and J & J Graphics, where she served as owner and graphic designer from 2012 to 2020. From 2015 to 2017, she served as an executive assistant and office manager at Semtech, refining her organizational and leadership skills. Earlier positions include serving as a hearing screener at Pediatrix Medical Group from 2012 to 2014 and as a human resources manager at Metroplex Chiropractic from 1993 to 2003.

Ms. Hicken-Lloyd's academic achievements have been instrumental in shaping her career. She earned a Master of Social Work with an emphasis in cognitive-behavioral therapy from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2019. She previously completed a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Behavior and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2001, graduating cum laude. She began her collegiate studies as a pre-med student before discovering her passion for psychology.

Beyond her clinical work, Ms. Hicken-Lloyd is deeply engaged in civic and creative endeavors. She founded Color Me a Rainbow, a developing nonprofit organization that provides rent-free housing and therapeutic services for individuals recovering from trauma. She also established a divorce support group that has grown from serving the Dallas area to nearly 300 members worldwide, reaching as far as Australia. This community has become a global network of healing and encouragement.

Her civic involvement includes service on the Interfaith Outreach Communication Committee for the Texas Dallas East Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, participation in grief support groups, and leadership roles as vice president and president of the Gerontology Club. From 2014 to 2018, she volunteered as a guardian ad litem with CASA of Collin County and now with CASA for Kids of East Texas, advocating for children in need.

Born in Van Nuys, California, Ms. Hicken-Lloyd considers motherhood her greatest achievement. In addition to her four children, her family includes five stepchildren through her marriage, forming a blended family that brings her deep fulfillment. She takes pride in each child's accomplishments and personal growth.

In her personal life, Ms. Hicken-Lloyd enjoys playing pickleball, ping pong, and tennis; dancing; attending concerts; listening to music; and cooking. Looking ahead, she envisions sharing her insights on national and international stages through speaking engagements, including those tentatively scheduled in Washington, DC. She has also added upon a original psychological postulate known as "Color Theory," with her own original concepts, which explores how individuals express unique emotional and spiritual identities to deepen human connection.

Ms. Hicken-Lloyd began her coursework toward a Doctor of Social Work in January 2026, continuing her lifelong commitment to growth, healing, and service. Through perseverance, compassion, and unwavering dedication, she transforms adversity into purpose, empowering others to heal, grow, and rediscover hope.
