NASHVILLE, TN, February 23, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nishtha Sareen has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Sareen has established a distinguished career in cardiology and public health, marked by leadership roles, academic appointments and a commitment to advancing women's heart health. Since 2021, she has served as founder and medical director of the Women's Heart Program at Ascension starting in Michigan where she oversaw operations across 15 hospitals dedicated to women's cardiovascular care. In this capacity, Dr. Sareen managed the program's growth and expansion, provided direct patient care in the clinic two days per week, and performed heart surgeries in the catheterization laboratory two days per week. Her clinical expertise includes diagnosing complex conditions such as myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries and ischemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries. What is incredibly unique about her heart health care strategy is that it focuses on socio-demographic determinants and gaps in healthcare delivery. To ensure what is developed within the walls of health care organizations reaches the community it is designed for, Dr. Sareen established 6 centers across Michigan to ensure heart care delivery for women is homogenous, evidence based and not a "luxury". She moved to Ascension Tennessee to establish dedicated women heart program and as the Medical Director of Women Heart Program at Ascension Saint Thomas, within 12 months, launched 3 centers that serve women with focus on heart risk factors that affect women disproportionately. She launched 250 screens in 250 days to bring screening to doorsteps of under-served women. With dedicated screens at YWCA, Thistle Farm (domestic violence rehabilitation), ancillary staff at the hospitals and our teachers, she successfully screened 272 women in just 50 days. She then launched 2030 screens by 2030 where she has taken the oath to screen 2030 women by the year 2030.

One of her most rewarding accomplishments was navigating the transition from Michigan to Tennessee—leaving behind thriving centers she had built—to establish new programs while ensuring continuity by empowering other physicians to succeed in her absence. This process of "passing the torch" stands as a defining achievement in her professional journey. Throughout her career, Dr. Sareen has demonstrated a profound dedication to mentorship and professional development in cardiology.

Dr. Sareen is also an Associate Professor at University of Tennessee Health Sciences and has served as the Associate Professor of Medicine at Central Michigan University. She serves as the President-elect for American Heart Association Middle Tennessee Board and has served as the Chair of Women In Cardiology for American College of Cardiology Michigan Chapter.
