PLATTE CITY, MO, February 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tom Carr has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Carr is a distinguished leader in the spirits industry and is the proud founder and chairman of Blue Star Tequila, a brand he conceptualized in January 2024. In his leadership capacity, he oversees business strategy and implementation and serves as the head coach for the company. Mr. Carr also capably manages a team of associates located across the United States and partners with a co-owner who oversees financial operations.

In addition to frequent travels to Mexico to collaborate with the master distiller—and to attend production cycles to supervise harvesting, bottling, aging and barreling—Mr. Carr directs sales and marketing initiatives. Under his leadership, the Blue Star Tequila brand has seen rapid advancement and now operates in 14 markets. The number of U.S. markets is growing on a monthly basis.

In September 2024, Mr. Carr entered Blue Star Tequila's Blanco and Añejo products into the World Spirits Competition in New York. The Añejo received a double gold medal and was named Best In Class, for the tequila category. Mr. Carr considers this his most significant professional achievement to date. The Blanco earned a bronze medal, further elevating the brand's reputation. These accolades reflect Mr. Carr's commitment to quality and innovation in tequila production.

Before launching Blue Star Tequila, Mr. Carr served as the chief executive officer of Religion Tequila for four years, after which he developed the concept for an unfiltered, additive-free, night-harvested, kosher tequila that was both affordable and of exceptional quality. This vision ultimately led to the creation of Blue Star Tequila. Mr. Carr previously served as a manager within the Sazerac Company.

For the six years prior to his tenure with Sazerac, Mr. Carr was a vice president at Margaritaville Spirits, the company behind the late Jimmy Buffett's cafes and tequila products. Earlier in his career, Mr. Carr served as a senior wine manager at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, Colorado, where he managed wine portfolios and contributed to strategic growth initiatives.

Notably, Mr. Carr dedicated four years as a portfolio manager for Smirnoff Vodka, at Diageo, where he was responsible for brand management and market expansion strategies. He also gained foundational experience as a district sales manager for the western region at Paddington for 10 years, during which the company merged with its sister firms, Heublein and Carillon Imports, to later become Diageo. Mr. Carr's entry into the industry began at E. & J. Gallo Winery in 1984, where he gained critical knowledge that would inform his future leadership roles.
Mr. Carr has secured a sommelier certification and a pilot's license, credentials that underscore his deep commitment to continuous learning.

In addition to his executive positions, Mr. Carr has been a member of The Founders Club since 2025, reflecting his ongoing engagement with industry leaders. He is proud to have been featured on cover stories for California Trade Magazine in 1997 as well as Beverage Industry News and other prominent magazines—recognition that highlights Mr. Carr's positive influence on the beverage industry.

To achieve balance, Mr. Carr enjoys riding his Harley Davidson, traveling and spending time with his beautiful wife, his daughter and son-in-law, and his grandchildren. He prioritizes family relationships and even relocated to be closer to family, arriving just days before the birth of his grandson. Looking toward the future, he aims to continue delivering superior products to consumers that are both enjoyable and affordable while introducing new profiles across different categories of spirits under Blue Star Spirits LLC. Additionally, Mr. Carr will persist in cultivating a family-like environment within the company, believing that strong relationships are essential for brand success and for this venture to fulfill his mission of a legacy project intended to enrich future generations.
