STAMFORD, CT, February 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amanda G. Benjamin-Smith, Esq., has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Currently serving as Investments Legal Director at Genworth Financial Inc. ("Genworth") in Stamford, Connecticut, Ms. Benjamin-Smith has established a distinguished career in institutional investment. Drawing on her expertise in commercial real estate, private equity, and fixed-income credit, particularly within the insurance sector, she is responsible for drafting agreements with asset managers, engaging with regulators and designing investment guidelines for the board of directors. In addition to her transactional work, she also leads Genworth's investments compliance team. Such comprehensive involvement has solidified her reputation as an expert in insurance investments who blends legal acumen and strategic business insight with deep industry knowledge.

Prior to reaching her current position at Genworth, Ms. Benjamin-Smith served as a Senior Investments Attorney specializing in real estate and private placements from 2020 to 2024. Her tenure was marked by significant contributions to the firm's investment strategies and her ability to navigate complex legal landscapes. Before joining Genworth, she was Associate General Counsel at BEB Capital from 2014 to 2020. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in facilitating deals and collaborations within the commercial real estate sector.

Ms. Benjamin-Smith's earlier days in the legal field include a tenure at Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski P.C. — a boutique New Jersey firm specializing in business law and real estate law — where she worked as an associate from 2011 to 2014. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her leadership qualities and the respect she commands from her team, valuing a healthy working environment above transactional successes. As a leader and woman of color, she is equally passionate about being a positive role model and mentor for younger women navigating the traditionally male-dominated industries of finance and law.

Hailing from a non-linear educational path, Ms. Benjamin-Smith, a recipient of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (which has long served as a launching pad for a career in academia), was initially drawn to history and sociology but ultimately chose law school. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Dartmouth College in 2003 with honors, she went on to obtain a Juris Doctor from The Washington University School of Law in 2007. Influenced by her mother and grandmother — both of whom were educators — she grew up knowing the value of education and empowerment from an early age.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Benjamin-Smith is known for her civic contributions that reflect her commitment to diversity and her community. She participates in events such as food drives and backpack donations through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and plays a significant role in Genworth's volunteer efforts with the United Way campaign benefiting the United Way of Western Connecticut. Her volunteer work extends to Habitat for Humanity, where she engages in both general build days and special initiatives like the Genworth Women's Build Day. Also passionate about music, she is a classically trained soprano and was a member and Recording Director of the Dartmouth Rockapellas — a group renowned for its creative performances and commitment to highlighting social justice themes — during her college days.

Ms. Benjamin-Smith's dedication to leadership and community service has been recognized through several accolades, including being selected as one of 20 women nationwide to receive the Committee on Economic Development Fellowship for Mid-Career Women — a prestigious program for mid-career professional women identified as having strong potential for C-suite leadership.

In her personal life, Ms. Benjamin-Smith enjoys golfing, spending time on the beach, reading, attending Broadway shows and indulging in karaoke. Looking to the future, she aims to advance into an executive leadership role at a major company where her strategic decisions can meaningfully impact lives. Additionally, she hopes to serve on a corporate board to help steer organizations toward positive outcomes while maintaining ethical standards and integrity. As a passionate leader committed to inclusivity and team-centered work environments where mental health is prioritized, she continues to make a meaningful difference in all areas of her life.
